'04 Human Polls

Too dovetail nicely with where I rank on the crazy soccer dad scale on the other thread and the lack of an FBR ranking, where does everyone think the top 20 teams are positioned? I know that there is a lot of inconsistency coming out of off-season and all, but there have been a lot of personnel changes on some teams. I'll start based on scores and games I've seen. All the grouped teams are interchangeable. Hopefully BWG gets busy soon

Your optimisim inspires me. However I will give credit where credit is diserved. RASE has not played their peers lately but when they did it wasn't close. Now with that being said everyone is beatable on the right day with right team. It has not happened yet but the 04 landscape is changing, this Spring will be interesting

15 players on roster playing SDL 1 and SDL P this spring!!!!!

I would like to know what teams are out there, that should be ranked hire but for some reason are not. Either the coach or the academy have been holding them back.

Speaking of SDL, it was about this time last year when the teams in each division were released. Any coaches here have a preliminary list or have they been mailed out yet?

I know of a few teams that should be ranked higher but it's not the coaches or clubs. It's the players that are holding them back.   

Your grouping 1-8 are correct. No surprises there. I'd put Lady Aztecs in at a solid 9. From there down, it gets extremely cloudy.

Where would you put a team in your human polls that are 3-0-2 against your #14-18 teams?

Tx spirit red Clark is not a top 20 team.....

FBR had them at 15. Who else in top 20 besides them? LFS, LP Redknapp? As someone else said earlier, it gets pretty gray outside top 7 or 8. What makes it fun this off season.

Watched them play this wknd at winter cup. They failed to score in 2 of their 4 games against very closely ranked teams. That does not top 20 make. Rankings are almost two months old...I'll go n what I saw with my own eyes this weekend. Thanks.

No sour grapes here at all...and you misunderstood me, our sister team did make the semi's and lost to a very good owen team. It sounds like sour grapes from you to call out a team like that apparently because your redknapp team didn't make the semi's.

FC Dallas Premire is a top 10. Barnes has had some changes...... Have to see how it affects them. I really like these rankings, but I would swap Premire for Scarfone and consider tx spirit clark as more of a #6 vs #3

Owen showed their few talented additions were definitely difference makers and have definitely moved up.  Big and aggressive.  They may have been ranked lower in the FBR but have definitely made strides and have staked a claim higher in the rankings IMHO.

Honestly, not sure where TX Spirit Red belongs at this point and with all the movement taking place around the league I think ranking right now is bit premature for those outside #10.  I think once the Spring Leagues shake out we'll have a better idea of where all these teams belong.  Every team between 10 and probably 30 will be moving around a lot.  Raisbeck was a team that was all the way down at #48 in the rankings, however, the team they fielded this weekend tied Rednapp and lost to TX Spirit Red by only one.  So things are a changing and changing quickly.  So a team that was in the top 20 today might drop to the top 30 while a team that was around 50 somehow moves up into the top 20 OR starts beating teams in that "tier".  So shuffle as you may and complain about team rankings all you like, but the landscape is gonna keep adjusting over the coming weeks and the Spring Leagues will show where teams really belong and even then it will still be wildly muddy outside the top 10.  The naivity is sometimes astounding...

With that, at this point 2-8 are an any given Sunday kinda deal and there will be adjustments and movement of players between now and the QT's.  From there it's a crapshoot, choose who you like, complain all you like but as player movement continues and players find new homes, teams will move up and down in the rankings week to week.  FBR only has impacts on recruiting but otherwise has no meaning.  When all these players sign their contracts and head to QTs, that's when it's for all the marbles and that's when we'll all know where these teams land.  Some may find their loyalties waning, feelings will likely be hurt, but in the end these polls are fun at best and mostly inaccurate as you slip past that number 10 position especially at tournament time.
