Man, can we just fast forward to June 30th???? I spend more time this dang forum then the local news. Maybe the news stations should start reporting about academy soccer.?

Hooray for Texas Spirit Clark!!! Adam and Melissa have run that team very well since U8! Great memories!

Better get used to that team vying for the top spot. Looks like they are there for the long term. Smile

Just curious...Gophers how do you handle this in the rankings? 2 teams from 1, neither the same. Do they start from scratch with no history?? How can you give either of the new teams the old ranking- you can't verify who stayed or who left?

If either is in your bracket during qualifying, you beat em. That's how you handle it.

Obviously you must be close to the situation, but Goodman must have had a big roster. If Sting did indeed retain 11 and 8 left with Goodman, that would be 19. If the Goodman roster was 16, something doesn't add up. Regardless of how many, why would FCD Central not be able to field a team when they have like nearly two full teams worth of players (the Tallal team plus the incoming Goodman crew)? What do you mean by DYSP coming up with a schedule for Sting to finish out season - do you mean as a back up plan or some separate schedule to give the Diaz kids some games so as not to get left out for the remaining season?

Yeah I hear ya on that one KKD. Something doesn't add up, according to both parties everyone has enough players to field two full teams and everybody is happy. Yeah right.

Quietly slid into the top 10 with not much fanfare. Flying under everybodies radar lots of cloak and dagger stuff going on over there. RL doing a great job and secretly building a formidable team.

I don't think the fallout on this will be over for a while, so I am going to assume that its a permanent fracture. Looks like both teams will be going forward with short rosters, and there will be some rebuilding going on at both places. Which brings up an interesting question for players watching this situation and seeing an opportunity....

Has any NEW teams been added, or are they just the old Sting Goodman/Tallal and Sting Tallal/Goodman teams? If this is the case I would suspect that the FCD Goodman/Tallal combo would be in much better shape numbers wise.

The kids that stayed with Sting is now Sting Diaz.
The kids that moved over to FCD is now FCD Central Premier.
The old Sting Tallal/Goodman team is now FCD Central Tallal.

Parents did what they thought was best for their kid. I let my DD choose and she decided to go to FCD. I have zero ill will to the parents or kids that stayed. It is a shame that it happened, but it did. I wish all the kids and parents the best and just let the kids play soccer. This has taken up way to much time over 10 year old girls soccer.

This is in line with what I understand...A month ago, It WAS 2 teams, Sting Goodman/T (D1/Plat) and Sting Tallal/G (D3). Tallal left to go to FCD, took D3 team with him.
Then Sting Goodman split in two, half staying with Sting (now Diaz) the other going to FCD as a net new Premier team under Tallal. Other posts have stated that Goodman is moving to Sting at the end of the 03 season, so the rumor appears to have validity that the FCD Premier team will be named Goodman very soon.

So simply put, Goodman left (is leaving) Sting and taking half the D1/Plat team with him (and will be recruiting) - Diaz took over the other half of the D1/Plat team at Sting (and will be recruiting)....right?

As much fun as it is to determine the fate of others, if you're not on any of these disseminated teams, why do you care what they do or do not do? This really makes everyone look like a bunch of old gossiping men and women that really have nothing better to do with their time than to worry about what everyone else is doing in the 10 year old soccer world. I'm quite sure they all have a plan (parents included) and will execute that plan the best they can going forward without our help... In the meantime, I'm sure there are a number of teams that will be happy to accept some of the cast-offs with open arms... Smile

A LOT of new teams looking in addition to old teams looking for players 3 months from signing. It will be very interesting to see who is still around come July.

I hope that all of these players/teams/coaches/parents players find what they are looking for. In response to SS, I don't have any dog in this fight except for who it means we will play come qualifying. A good Sting Goodman team is splitting into two different teams. A CP led Solar team is forming. It will be interesting to see how QT seeding committee seeds all these teams and how it affects my dd's team.

So you mean that I can cancel the re-tasking of the NSA satellite to fly over DSP this weekend? You know, the one that uses that facial recognition algorithm that we hacked from the Israeli's (and was successfully Beta tested on the Kicks '01 teams during their academy days - shhhh... don't tell JM Suspect

AH, I'm sure the absolute volume of changes that will be taking place between now and then will likely stagger us all - it's only just begun. But to really continue to post about speculation and rumor is probably a little over the top. Come QT's I'm sure there will be a whole bunch of new faces on a bunch of teams regardless of where the coaches have gone... the earth is shifting under our feet and will only become more volatile over the coming months. I also have no dog in the fight and honestly, only care in the respect that it may bring more DD's out for try-outs in the coming months, which is a good thing in my personal opinion.

I noticed Sting '04 Goodman/Tallal scheduled to play in Real Colorado Cup come May. If the teams are split up 50/50 and both halves wanted to attend will two teams show up or will both teams hold hands and come together for one last tournament??

Tallall for sure, maybe Diaz if you never go to Vegas, and def never CJ, given my choice.
