Probably one of those unwritten rules, or maybe that rule has a secret spirit that they forgot to mention.

I read somewhere that no guest players are allowed for QT. That if the rosters for the first league game is different than it was for the QT, then those teams will be investigated.

Just ensure your team manager is doing a compare btwn the game roster and the jersey #'s of your opponent (at the very least). If you fail to attempt to police this yourself, you're naive to think someone else will do it for you.

They'd be on roster. The question is would they be gone first league game in the fall?

What's the deal?

It looks like they changed the schedule.

Second weekend will be interesting with six teams, all with legit shots, vying for four spots. I see LP Keegan, Feet, FCD West, Andro West, LP Dalglish, and LP Owen being the six with a shot. Of those four I see Anrdo/FCD/Dalglish taking three spots and the fourth being a battle.

The only problem is if Daglish, FCD West, Andro West all win their pool they will almost certainly be in the same pool the 2nd week. A good chance that the loser of Owen and Keegan also in this pool. That would be a tough pool....

Defeeters are in a good position to requalify, although upsets happen.....

I'm interested to see how brackets C, D, and E play out this weekend. In C, LP Keegan had impressive results in the TUT and against the Kosmos this week. Kosmos beat Owen in a recent tournament, and Owen had a good showing in the Puma. I'm going to pick Keegan to win but the other 2 teams are solid. In bracket D Andro West has had a great run. Think they will win bracket as well, but FC Black could have the potential to be a spoiler. Seen them play and they are a good team and better then some of their results indicate. Bracket E interests me the most. I haven't seen any of the teams play but you have Quest, the number 1 Arlington team, FCD West Tx, whose results look impressive and Fever, who also seems to be playing very well recently and came out of nowhere to make it into the second weekend of qualifying last year. I think any of those three have a shot and for me this appears to be toughest bracket in week 1. I wish allthe girls good luck and hope the heat isn't too unbearable for all of you out on the pitch.

No one is talking about Saints, but this is a team that played 4 LHGCL teams in Spring and gave up total of 5 goals. They lost several front line players, but kept their entire D intact. Now gained several players with some offensive firepower- work in progress but great potential. Overall a stronger team than when it lost to D'Feeters 1-0 in May and Keegan 2-0 in April.

Congrats to LP Dalglish, Fever, D'Feeters Wombough, FCD White, LP Keegan, FCD Black, Mutiny, and FCD WTX for all making it thru to the next phase. Happy for them and their parents. I still think D'Feeters with their pick ups) will be the strongest of these in the qualifying.
A bigger surprise to me was LP Owen and Andromeda West missing out. Watched both of the teams quite a bit over the past few months and thought they both would of made it to the second week.
Just shows how competitive and how much parity there is... Congrats to all the girls whether they advanced or not. It was a long hot weekend.

I think LP Jones and LP Dalglish might disagree giving up zero goals while Feet gave up 4 against Plano teams. Jones even took out Owens which is a decent D3 level team last year. I think it is all about who gets in what bracket, that will be the deciding factor, no one team In this group is above any other. Should be fun and congrats to all girls win or lose, they all deserve a pat on the back for playing hard.

I think the bracket format puts LP Dalglish, Fever, FCD Black in one bracket. LP Keegan, Defeeters, and Mutiny in another.  Where do the wild cards go?  Will they place them so they are not playing the same teams again?

I read on the LHGC tourney site that the teams will try to be slotted to avoid having to play the same teams they might have played in Round 1, so you can't take the bracket pre-matchup as gospel.

Right...for example, D'Feeters and FCD Whtie shouldn't be in the same bracket.

The other bracket should be

Voiceofreason you are absolutely right, what I should of said was that I think D'Feeters will be the strongest of the group after qualifying with the additions they have. But of course they have to make it thru qualifying first

Let the games begin. All teams gain players and lose players. I don't think any one team stands out in either bracket. I looked and only one team won all there games I believe.Should be a competitive weekend.

I agree that these should more than likely be the Bracket breakdowns. Like SANTAFE mentioned, since FCD WTX played FEVER and D'FEETERS played FCD WHITE already - they will probably break them up since they both with 21 points.

Next question, does QT move on this weekend or next based on possible rain all this week?

Everyone keeps mentioning the pickups Feet have made. Not sure I would brag about getting players coached up by someone else so I could get back into Lake Highlands.

Your going to have to score to advance. Draws will kill you as fast as losses.

I can also say that I am shocked that Andro West and LFC Owen did not make it to the 2nd round. I think Owen and Kosmos were in a tough bracket.

Congrats to the 8 teams and good luck this weekend.

1 person pointed out 6 where lost. I pointed out 2 starters where lost & 2 starters where gained. 1 person likes what they saw. It doesn't sound like a lot of talk. Just observations. That is what the forum is for is it not?

Moving on... I think that the best teams advanced. This next weekends games should make for great games. Here are my predictions.
LP Dalglish (a lock to make it)
LP Keegan (should finally make it)
FCD Black
Feet/FCD WTX winner
