Looks like they swapped them with FCD Central White.

Also fixed the Texans back-back schedule on Friday.

Correct FCD Central White was moved out to accommodate Sting 04 Guzman (Previously Diaz) which should have been in the Platinum Bracket.  On paper and with verification they beat 2 of the 3 teams in Platinum B.  They did beat LP Redknapp twice and Sting East once in league play so they should have without a question been a Platinum team. Not Sure what was overlooked but JM at least was able to talk them into playing Gold.  IMHO, they still should have put them in Platinum and the LP Redknapp Team should have moved down but still in place of FCD Central White.

If you use the last FBR I posted as reference, there were 4 teams that stood out as being "under-seeded" in King TuT.

Sting Guzman
Sting West
Sparta Red
NTFC Black

3 of those 4 teams, have changed coaches and/or clubs in the past few weeks, and in the case of Guzman, they signed up with a completely new GotSoccer account that has no game history for them. Given that the TD had to seed 190+ teams across all divisions, it's not surprising that he/she might not have time to do a full forensic vetting of every team, and may have missed on a couple.

Looked at Sting 04 Donovan (Previously Gutierrez).  They have not had good showings in last PrimeTime Tournaments.  They didn't get out of Bracket Play in last tournament but did not drop in Ranking while Guzman (Previously Diaz) made it to Semis and then Dropped in Rankings. This is According to paperwork verification, so this may have been overlooked also.

NTFC Black-is this previously Aces Black?

Sting West 04 Davis-now Sting 04 West (Marty West)? There are two Sting West Davis showing in Primetime Silver and both at bottom of table. Either way I think they should at least be in Silver or Gold not Bronze.

Sparta Red???- What League did they play?

Yes. IMO, this team should be in Silver A, maybe Gold B.

hooper96 wrote:Sting West 04 Davis-now Sting 04 West (Marty West)? There are two Sting West Davis showing in Primetime Silver and both at bottom of table. Either way I think they should at least be in Silver or Gold not Bronze.

Yes. If you are looking at TGPL Silver standings, this is the Sting West 04 Davis team. The other Sting West Davis team was actually an '05 team. This team also played Guts-n-Glory in June. Lost to LP Redknapp by 1 goal. Beat LP St. John by 2. IMO this team should be in Gold B.

hooper96 wrote:Sparta Red???- What League did they play?
Sparta played in Arlington Academy League this Spring. They've put up a very good W/L record this spring playing mostly weaker competition, but they did beat both Lady Aztecs '04 and Kicks '04 in AFC Summer Classic over Labor Day Weekend. IMO Gold B/Silver A is where they belong.

'04 King TuT 7/18 - 20 - Page 2 Empty Re: '04 King TuT 7/18 - 20

Post by Son_ofa_Pitch 16/07/14, 10:12 am

My opinion, it's not a good idea to create a new GotSoccer page now.  When Aug 1st rolls around, previous points awarded for games/tournaments won will be eliminated if you created a new page.  GotSoccer has tallied games history since Aug 1st of 2013.  You will find your team as a Bronze/Copper tier level team come Aug 1st.  Same level teams are usually grouped according to tiers when entering GotSoccer tournaments.

If you believe your teams is better than a Gold Level Tier and you requested Platinum Division (highest division in the tourney), you maybe denied based on GotSoccer tier of your team.  The higher tier teams are usually given preference over the lower tier teams when requesting division change.   This is more apparent when entering out of town/state tournaments.  Majority of major tournaments in the country are using GotSoccer.

GotSoccer Tier Levels

Diamond, Premier Elite, Elite, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper

At the same time, I can see why some teams would like to remove previous game history.  Too many RED "L's" on the page doesn't look too pretty.   Twisted Evil

Its best to merge your GotSoccer pages if you have more than one..

Obviously there were some mistakes made and the TD needs to look at this further and make due diligence. We all know that Coaches are contacted for LHGCL Seeding but not for King Tut. Tut is not an official seeding tournament according to North Texas. Let's keep in mind this is just a friendly tournament and the seeding takes place independently and before this tournament takes place (Not making excuses for TD). The TD needs to do a better job of researching teams and not dropping the ball. Specially when BW has done a great job of putting the information right in front of him.

Post by Mandalorian 16/07/14, 10:58 am

I thought I would lay out each bracket with the current rankings and give a prediction for each group.
Rankings below per the last FBR:
Platinum A
#1 TX Spirit
#3 D Feeters Black
#4 Dallas Texans (Scott)
#7 Sting Donovan
#8 LP Owens
Prediction: Spirit wins out.  It'll be interesting to see if DT Scott was able to replace their key losses.

Platinum B
#9 Sting (Chacon)
#10 Odyssey
#11 Solar (Pulp)
#13 Mustangs
#14 LP Redknapp
Prediction: I think this ones a toss up between Sting and Odyssey.  Can't wait to see how Solar does.

Gold A
#15 TX Spirit North
#16 Sting Central (Cuevas)
#17 SRFC
#18 FC Dallas Premiere
#19 GSSC
Prediction: I think this bracket is fairly close, but after watching FC Dallas Premiere play at Kyle Owen and come out with 2, 1-0 losses to #6 LP Dalglish and #3 D Feeters Black, if they can find the back of the net, I think they take this one.

Gold B
#12 Sting (Guzman)
#22 D Feeters White
#23 Dallas Texans Red (Stark)
#31 LP St John
#32 TX Spirit Red
Prediction: Sting.  This one is almost unfair.

Silver A
#33 FC Dallas (Hunter)
#34 Celtic MacPherson (?)
#35 Dallas Texans White (Mbemba)
#39 D'Feeters (Munoz)
#45 LP Carragher
Prediction:  I think Celtic takes this one.

Silver B
#29 Sparta
#40 FC Dallas Central White
#42 Cosmos Black
#52 Mutiny
#57 Andromeda
Prediction: FC Dallas and Cosmos give Sparta a run for their money.

Bronze
#25 Sting West (West)
#61 Saints (Mee)
#65 AYSES Black (Jensen)
#79 FC Dallas Black (Heald)
#89 Kernow Storm
Prediction: This bracket isn't even fair.  Sting takes it easily.

With the Sting Guzman thing though...its tough. Most of their record came as Sting Goodman, then switched to Diaz mid-spring season, then now Guzman...and with a brand new gotsoccer profile, and assumed roster changes that go along with this much coaching movement...well.....the government would have totally missed it too (not counting the IRS looking at a tea party group)...so a friendly phone call or email to the TD from the team manager explaining "who they are" was probably needed in advance.

I guess I should have asked for clearification on "losses". Games or players? As for players from Scott going to Odyssey, I can't answer that difinitively as we are fairly new to the team. However, I don't recall anyone leaving in the last month or so, but I could be wrong. Yes and btw that was a fluke.Lol.

I believe the DT Scott player you are referring to ending landing with Sting West, which makes their seeding in King Tut even worse.  She was a strong player up top and would have been a great addition to our team (Odyssey).  At the same time, our Mids and Forwards are finally figuring out how to work together to get the ball in the back of the net, which we had been struggling with for the past 6 - 9 months.  Our defense has always been our strength and we did pick up 2 solid additions there.  This weekend will be telling for us and for a lot of other teams.

On a related note, we scrimmaged Sting Gutierrez (Donavan) this past Saturday and their team looked a little different (only had one sub).  Someone told me they had lost a player or two to RASE (or Dalglish)?  Not sure if this is true . . . I will be curious to see how the LP Elite and Premier teams look come qualifying.  Heard both teams retained their core but welcomed quite a few new additions as well.  Like many, I wished they would have played in King Tut.

This weekend will be informative as to which teams have gotten stronger and which ones weaker with all of the recent player movement up to signing.

Good luck this weekend to all the girls - have fun, play hard, and get better.  To all of us parents - let's be encouraging and respectful.  Soccer is a great game - like so many sports, though, screaming and ranting and complaining rarely has any positive impact on the players, the refs, and the opposing team.

Nothing to add to this thread but to note that "Mandalorian" is about the coolest handle on the forum. Jus' Sayin'....

PS - Keep an eye on those Odyssey girls. That is a special group of girls and parents base. They will make some noise...

(not a parent but watched their core grow for 4 years now)

I think they will be more than okay in between the posts. Something tells me they lost a goalie because they added a goalie.
