straight up wrote:Dallas texans red were given a gift, they were allowed into lake highlands without ever playing a game in qualifying. They dont have the ability to play against the majority of the teams without throwing cheap shots. They grab, kick, bite and punch. There was no intimidation, just straight up out played. Im sure some of the girls on dtr are good girls but several are not. The fever player was dragged to the ground with both hands around her waist, she has claw and bite marks on her hip. Yes there was frustration towards the ref for not controlling the game, but not towards any of the players. The smaller players are obviously frustrated with the lack of speed and ability, so they use whatever poor tactics they can. This is not the first problem a team has had with dtr. This is another example of lake highlands giving a spot to a team which is not deserving. Dallas texans red is an embarrassment to the Texans organization.
StraightUp, I have not seen DT Red play this year yet so I have no comment on their playing style, physical style, etc. However, I wanted to add in that I wouldn't say they were given a gift. LH rules states the Club can award the Bye to another team within that club. As many have said about DT White going up to D1. I don't think they would think getting beat every weekend is a gift. Also, they have WON 2 Games, Lost 1 and Tied 2 Games --- so as of now, I would say somehow they are playing well against the other D3 teams, including tying the current #1 team FCD WTX Holder.

Wired wrote:Dt white was a lake highlands team, they may have moved up, but at least earned the spot in lake highlands. Correct? I don't much about DT red, but how did they get in? Did they play in qualifying or drop from D2?
True DT White played in LH D3 last year and played well enough (4th or 5th) to stay in LH. As for DT Red, they got into LH per their rule that allows the Club (ie: Dallas Texans) to award a team in their club the spot. So they took the Waco Texans relegated D2-to-D3 spot, when Waco "blew up".

D2 solar and dynasty are killing it.
D3 Holder should win the year with Feet right behind. Feet plays much prettier, but Holder is big and strong.

And they can ensure their team's tetnus shots are up to date...in case a 'Suarez-like' incident unfolds.

Re: Sept 20th D1-D3
The idea that the parents sit down and write a check to the Dallas Texans to buy their spot in D3 is so rediculous and just stupid! Most of these kids were on the team and staying on the team irregardless of where they played. You can think what you want about the rule or what the club itself did with the rule but don't accuse DTR parents of buying their way into a D3 spot. What, would you have done, sat Down and had a serious talk with coach and club about how unfair it is for our team to have it and let's just give it to a "more deserving team". Ha I bet! No, you would have said thank you, yes, for this opportunity to showcase our team and really show what we can do! Honestly, it looks like they are doing just fine.
I did not see the game but we have played DT red in past and they can be physical but no more than any of the D2 or D1 teams in LH now. (Maybe they are preparing for their next move up or even gift) However, didn't a DTR girl break her arm last time these two gladiator teams came together? I think it may Be all about What sideline you are standing on. I am on neither, I know and love both coaches and several players on each team.
****FYI, they do bite though, not the players but the parents, wear your thickest scarf around your neck the next time you see a DT red parent!)

Wired, there were many teams that not only played 3-6 games to make the final four spots in LH D3 but probably practice the entire month of July to get ready, were many other teams/players had the month off (ie: DT Red). And those teams/players/parents would agree that DT Red didn't "earn" the spot like FCD WTX Holder, FCD White, Fever & D'Feeters did. However the rules have been in place with LH and most know it. Right or wrong - its what happened. In my opinion, its not the rules but that the issue lies with the Club. If the Dallas Texans had class or any other club, they would not just assign a team for their Bye spot, but then they don't keep the money within the club.
My comment about them being 2-1-2 or 2-2-1, based on how you score the ties and losses is that they are currently holding their own.

Wired wrote:The top 3 D1, are just that, no one can touch them. They may tie or lose every once in a while but thats soccer. Ive been impressed with Sting Brown, they had a lot of changes and are playing good. Dt White is picking up the pace and getting use to the speed, still a hard year. Fever is hanging in, I dont care for that style of play but its working. Andromeda is a good all around team.
D2 solar and dynasty are killing it.

I agree with the Top 3 in LH D1. It will be interesting to see how DT White play against the same teams in the Spring, since they are as you mentioned picking up the pace and getting used to the speed.
I would like to try and see the SRSA 03 vs. Dynasty game. Dynasty has really impressed me, but no surprise with SRSA being on the top.
WTX Holder definitely got past their nerves during LH QT and are playing fairly dominant; 4 Wins and 2 Ties.

You should probably learn the difference between "right" and "write" you moron. On a related note, stop crying because you didn't win. Now we can all see where your players get their bad attitude from...

LOL Thanks for posting! Too funny that all these Fever parents are talking trash and making excuses because they couldn't beat DTR.

FEVER GOT THE RED CARD - yet they are the ones making excuses and crying about it on the internet... you'll see similar behavior from their players on the field. Good Times!

Wired wrote:My team did win. Thank you!!! I could care less about the game, but how they got in. The only info I got was from the one DTR parent I know. Shes the one that told me the dtr player gave the fwfc player a concussion. So dont start trying to blame others. I'll tell you if a player comes at my dd and bites her she has my permission to get a red card.
Ok so basically you don't know how they got in, and you weren't at the game, therefore you have nothing relevant to add to this conversation. Good try though.

Wired you come across as bitter.

Wired wrote:I shouldn't have brought DT red into this discussion. They are not the only ones who benefited from the rule. Its a problem with the league. I disagree with it because of the problems it creates. Its undo pressure put on the girls. Which in turn causes people to do thing's they shouldn't. I would agree with soccer mom, play hard, play fair no matter who wins.
You shouldn't have brought your mouth into this discussion either. If your girls can't handle the pressure, maybe they shouldn't waste the rest of our time by prancing around the field... Or maybe you should push them harder so that they learn to deal with the pressure.

Wired how would you know what the kids appreciate or experience? I know some girls that have been through qualifying 3 times now. Many of the DTR kids have been through qualifying twice. My daughter was fortunate that her team made it the first year, but a blanket statement that the kids do not respect the opportunity is presuming a lot. Sure I get the old adage you appreciate what you work for, but logic tells me if a kid is still playing select soccer at the U-13 level there has been blood sweat and tears.
