Which Top Ten Coach is BEST for Future Development??
Re: Which Top Ten Coach is BEST for Future Development??
How can anyone who has DD that they love have that freaking avatar. You're sick!?futbollove wrote:After seeing that you have an older DD, your post is no longer funny. How can someone who's gone through the whole process still be so naive?

With having a older DD I know what's going on, so I'm not naive. There might be a few coaches out for the money but most want the best for your DD. Get rid of your freaking avatar!

Re: Which Top Ten Coach is BEST for Future Development??
Turftoe is right....relationship and fit between a coach and player is important. There is no one size fits all coach that will be best at developing every type of kid. Coaches have different styles and points of emphasis in the game...one coach's great tactician with good technique and ability to play 1 touch could be seen as a liability for another coach who covets the 1v1 take on artists and pure dribblers. And one coach's star dribblers who can't spot a wide open teammate while they dribble into 1v3 may be seen as a liability from the tactician coach who is trying to teach pattern play and positional discipline.
Unfortunately newer parents have no easily accessible resources to help tell who is who, and are left to find out by asking around, trial and error, or best case being able to spot the coach's development focus by watching the teams play. Looking at the win/loss record is easy, but really shouldn't be given much weight at all.
From this list of coaches, I have only seen multiple teams from a few...my unbiased parent take:
JM: focus is individual skill, dynamic play and confidence on the ball 1v1. One of the coaches who gives near complete freedom at younger ages and won't kill the take on instincts of pure dribblers.
Pulp: focus is technique and technical excellence, tactical awareness and pattern play. Watch pulp teams in different age groups and you will recognize the same passing patterns.
AG: Focus is positional discipline and organization. Common attributes across AG teams are speed, power, grit and getting stuck in. Younger teams are doing small sided and Futsal moreso than years past (from what I recall), so focus may be changing to more technical development.
Haven't seen enough teams from the others to have an opinion, but IMO development styles of most top coaches can generally be slotted into one of those three buckets.

If your DD is on this forum and if you think the rest of the world should live their life based off what you want your dd to see then YOU are the problem.

Unfortunately this is true. Same with lots of TV nowadays. One can hardly watch a college or NFL game without some questionable commercial with scantily clad girls, or someone advertising something to help your sex life.
Then, there's the beauty of watching soccer. No commercials and it's easy to avoid halftime. And yes, no DVR here.
