And also that this is a soccer forum of adults so stick to the general neighborhood of the topic.  Oh and BWG anyone savvy enough to be able to find the identity of a poster is also savvy enough to understand how the world of the internet works

...and how the internet works, is that you aren't anonymous, whether or not you think you are.

Me personally, I think fubollove using that avatar on here is tacky.  It's not a choice that I would make, but I'm not offended by it, and certainly not to the point that I'd ever urge him/her to change it.  If I was offended by either his/her avatar, or by things he/she posted on a regular basis, I'd simply set him/her up as a foe in my profile, and then  by default, all his/her posts would be hidden unless I specifically decided to click on them to view.  If I thought it was truly offensive and went beyond the standards typically employed by this site, I would appeal to the admin, who may or may not agree with me.

Now, those are the steps I would take.  However, if someone decided to "out" futbollove over the avatar, while I may or may not agree with that choice, anyone who did that would certainly be within their rights.  This is, after all, a PUBLIC forum, and any personal information you could obtain and publish about futbollove by finding it over the PUBLIC internet is frankly also fair game.

Now, most people on here wouldn't do something like that, but most people on here also wouldn't use an avatar like futbollove's as their own.  If futbollove would be totally comfortable explaining to his/her spouse/parents/friends/kids/boss/etc. why he/she feels it's o.k. to use that avatar, or futbollove is confident that the chances are slim to none that he/she would ever have to do something like that, then by all means, go ahead and continue to use the avatar and defend it.

By the same token, if someone "outed" futbollove for using that avatar, that person better be equally ready to be "outed" themselves, and better be prepared to defend themselves from people that would attack them for doing so.

The crux of my point is this...  If you are on here, thinking that you have complete anonymity, and what you do or say on this site will never be tied back to you in the real world, you better think again.  The bottom line, is that just like on twitter, snapchat, instagram, facebook, whatever...  if it's something you wouldn't want to have directly tied to you and have to explain to your family, friends, co-workers, prospective employer, (or even worse)... don't hit send... don't hit enter...

I'm not perfect.  I've said some things on here in the heat of the moment that I've regretted.  Even gone and tried to clean up my tracks a time or two (or more).  If someone decided to "out" me, I'd probably be in for some mildly uncomfortable conversations, but hopefully nothing I'd be afraid to own up to.

If you, or futbollove, or turftoe9, or anyone else on here feels similarly about their history on this site, then cool.  If not, they may want to reconsider what they are doing.

I have no problem standing outside anonymity in everything I post. I am also well within my own abilities to find the identity of anyone posting but I choose not to care or bother looking to find out. Yes you can find the identity of any poster and to that point almost nobody here has that ability without being an admin.

If you are that concerned with his avatar I hope you are keeping your daughter away from vine Facebook instagram YouTube, and any of the other popular websites among teens, and don't let her listen to the radio or watch tv unsupervised to ensure she is not seeing anything as bad or far worse
