Agreed,I try not to confuse efforts with results.
I'm Sure Solar played well despite a 0-3 score.
After receiving news that they made it, I wouldn't get mad if they were ecstatic. They are 15 years old .

Cyclones had some sort of controversy in their game.
They fought back and scored an excellent tying goal.
Both Galaxy and Cyclones knew that one goal in the last 20 minutes would advance one of them. Both teams had fantastic efforts. The results didn't come.
Lightning did very well. Max points vs a bracket winner shows that despite struggling in the other games. They played the "Whole " tournament. Start to finish for a chance.
I consider all four of these teams as equals. All eight qualifying teams helped make the 3 QT winners better.
In turn will make LH D2 better.
Thanks for showing us a hint of the exciting season ahead.

Excellent post...I fully agree except for the one word in BOLD above...Solar didn't play well...they played hard...Both of their other games, they played well...playing hard isn't enough-against anyone in D2 this year. I agree, teams were pushed to their limits, and the prize...a season full of getting pushed further...I think coach will agree that it will take playing hard and well to achieve any results this year. EVERY team I have seen is more athletic, and they all play hard. The season will determine who plays well consistently.

By this stage in the lives of the 00s, all teams should be closer in abilities, they have had a number of years to get better as have the teams. I think we will see fewer high scoring games and a lot more gritty, defensive play. With only one chance to play each team, each game will be important as there won't be any do-overs.

It will be very interesting to see how it all shakes out in both divisions.

With our athletes playing high school also. Playing against older competition. Both divisions are going to get much better.

Hi Vik, all I can say is I am sure all teams are glad the 00s didn't have to go to two weekends - even though this past weekend wasn't quite as bad as the last one. Again, kudos to all teams who participated. Just a note, I saw some major improvements in some of the teams that didn't make it in the QTs. I feel certain that Legacy, Cyclones, Frisco Fusion, and Galaxy will do very well next year should they try it again. Also of note, Velocity showed improvement over its results of last year.
