As for Solar Blue getting beat by Solar Black. It was in a tournament. I would not call that a friendly, bud.
Additionally, every 2 bit underling has to do additional work vs. the main director/coach. Part of the deal. He is losing players and games due to lack of player development.

OK, let me make it clear:
Solar Red is no longer as competitive as Sting Black.
Solar Red is at the same level as Solar Black.
Solar Red is down, Solar Black is up. NUMBER NEVER LIES, coach may.
Half year ago when my dd joined Black, its ranked below 10 or 15. Now it is top 3, I have to give credit to MS for his dedication.

I am telling you, just because he is a director doesn't mean he is a good coach that can develop players.
"Losing players?", let's see who

I'll feed the troll one last time.
What is Solar Black's record vs Solar Red, Sting Black and DTS?
What do those numbers tell you?
BTW, living and dying on FBR is up to you. None of it matters anymore.

Yes, I am a Solar Red parent, probably not to hard to figure out. I am sorry your not happy with your DD development or play on the field, but Colvin's track record speaks for itself. Our games vs. Sting Black were challenging, entertaining, and good for both teams.

Do you mean Sting Black is very similar to Solar Red? (you say Blue)
Pretty sure the game played against Solar Blue this weekend was one sided in Sting Black's favor.
The Solar Red and Sting Black games are very good battles indeed.

Top 3?

Considering not all teams have played the same number of games, they're on top by virtue of being further on with their schedule. As of today there are a couple teams remaining with better overall numbers with fewer games played. It will be interesting to see how this plays out by the end of the season, top 3 or 4 is likely though. DTS is the one to beat I'd say.

Carl, Please share the reasoning behind your comment; "the most underrated coach and player developer."
The 06 team in reference wasn't around when this thread started in May, which raises the question how the team came together. Was the team a collection of talent that came together in May/June, or a team migration from another club? Not sure, but they are a solid bunch that obviously plays good defense. I have seen a few of his older teams (AP 03 and Pre-AP 04) play, and both were/are solid D2 level teams.

From what I can see, his younger teams are taking similar trajectories over time. From my observation, he also doesn't sacrifice what he is teaching for the sake of results at the younger age, and this pays off as his players/teams get older.
He is doing this "out of the limelight" in Sting's North division, and his name isn't typically the first that rolls off people's tongues when they talk about the top coaches on the girls side in NTX. However, my opinion is that he is doing more, starting out with less, than many/most, and is doing so by developing what he has rather than going out and just recruiting better players.
IMO, that makes him underrated. Your opinion may vary.

This team has been around for a few years. About half of the '06s on the team have played together for over 1.5 years (a few longer than that). When they went age pure they were listed as 06 garrett in some leagues for scheduling.

Team started in D3 at U11, steadily progressed up through D3->D2->D1 earning a PL spot with a top 4 finish last year in U15 D1. Accomplished that keeping a large part of his core together and developing rather than recruiting, and that team in particular plays a very appealing style that most of "cognoscenti" on this board seem to espouse.

That is an impressive example (01) and supporting statements. I usually hear coaches praised on this forum for their coaching prowess only to find out they are better recruiters than coaches. Good to see him getting a little recognition.
I was incorrect on my earlier comment about Sting 06 Angel being a new team. The 06 team existed back when this thread started, and apparently much earlier. They were ranked in the thirties, which is why I didn't see them at first glance. Again, kudos to the team, and congrats on being undefeated.

Good to hear those teams are doing well! Hopefully, some of the JDL teams not playing LH will play them in the offseason tournaments.

Re: FBR 06AP 05/23/2016
There are still 3 '06 Girls teams with no losses. Dallas Texans South with an amazing goal differential are the most successful, Tx Spirit North with the next best goal differential and tied with DTS in points, and Springate's Solar Chelsea. To be without a loss this deep into a season is quite an accomplishment. There are a few other strong teams with a single loss, Sting North, Fever United and Defeeters Colon.
The Lake Highlands '06 Girls group is playing some great soccer. Good luck to all for a strong safe finish and a positive tournament season.
