D'feeters will not be considering this tournament in the future. We will play this weekend but I'm very disappointed that couldn't even get credit and play next year as an option but I guess part of it it's our fault for not paying attention to the rules.

Flamefest has never been elite tournament. With this attitude and TD it never will be. Few good teams sprinkled in with a bunch of spares.

This tournament has been painful and I swore I wouldn't play it again. In our age group a team pulled out from a 6 team group. Instead of changing brackets/schedule up (so far), the email from TD said if no team takes their spot, then the 3 teams that are scheduled to play them will win by forfeit. The other 3 teams will play their 3 games out though. Just a little bit messed up!

Yeah, and they cannot even tell me what size field is "full size". I called McKinney and they said it just depends on what the director told, I guess, Parks and Rec. For U10 11v11 the woman I spoke to said most likely 100x60. Oh well. Shame on us for not reading the fine print.

We've done a number of Tournaments over the years. Due to problems we had a couple of years ago, Flamefest is at the bottom of our list.

I guess I can pile on too - played a different tourney last year hosted by McKinney - terrible too. Fields were small, ground was like concrete covered with sand and just a bit of grass - trophies were not ready on final day. We won't go back

Guessing you're not aware that just last year, U11s were playing 11v11 here in NTX and had been since the inception of competitive soccer here. In fact, most of the top end of the 2004 (U13) age group has been at least participating in 11v11 leagues or tourneys since their U10 year.

Based on my experiences (and thousands of other's that came before us), I can assure you that your lil' 06 will be just fine this weekend Smile

As long as there are weaker teams that still need a tournament without a big name in it to run the table the Flamefest will have a place in NTX soccer.

In this particular case, this post was revived to make sure no one wasted their money on this event. I revived it once myself after receiving an email advertising this year's event. The TD is one of the worst I have ever worked with and I wanted to make sure no one else lost money like I did. Valid enough of a reason for you?
