I also see that both odyssey and andromeda west are listed in the D2 team list. I think there may be 9 spots open instead of 7.

Odyssey went kaput because they were too proud to stay in 04 and it blew the team up (tragic really) and andromeda west blew up because they never really belonged in LH in the fist place (1 goal all year speaks volumes)

Who knows? Good luck to all the teams trying to qualify. I hope those that deserve it show their stuff and get in where they fit in and those that do not will not choose this weekend to punch above their weight. It's hard on these young ladies.

Cam someone explain the format. I see Groups A-E for 7 spots? Some groups have 5 teams, others have 4 and Group E has two sets of 3 teams for a total of 6 teams.

Group A teams get 4 games each but other groups get 3 games. I'm confused.

If its posted then i must have missed it.

Prediction Time

Bracket A Winner: Athletic Dallas
Physical team that knows how to score

Bracket B Winner: FC Dallas Central
Based on past results. How much different is this team from last year? No recent results to compare with. If they retained the core of last years team they should be fine.

Bracket C Winner: Dallas Kicks
Looks to have added some talent. Good results in Tut

Bracket D Winner: FC Dallas East
Plays good defense. Doesn't give up a lot of goals

Bracket E/F Winner: Sparta
Played with the top teams in Tut and more than held their own.

What y'all got?

Andro West Duren didn't blow up, but we were almost half '05s, so it's been an interesting off season to say the least.  We're playing in LHQT, starting tonight.

Last year was a tough year to be sure, but I'd appreciate it if you kept your consistently derogatory comments about our team to yourself.  They're 11/12 year old girls for goodness sake.  At least try and show some restraint?

"Consistently derogatory"? Lol! I just stated what I've sern and asked a question prior to that. If that's derogatory then I guess my thesaurus is busted. :-) (I'm also no math wizard but ten 04s and six 05s is NOT 'almost half'). :-)

At any rate: I also wished all teams good luck too. I guess that was also too much fir 11/12 year olds too? It's ok. I'll never mention "that" team again if it's so upsetting to you. I'm actually glad they got the positive points tonight but alas. Moving on......

It was a 9/7 split between 04s and 05s, so it's as close as you can get to being half as is mathematically possible. And this isn't the first comment you've made about us, otherwise I wouldn't have said anything, but I'm happy to move on if you will.

Sparta scored in the first off a rebound from the keeper to go up 1-0 at half. Added two in the second half - one on a break-away by the forward. and another via a header on a cross.

Lake Highlands should be adjusting to read it 3-0 Sparta win . . .

Anyone have thoughts on round two? I had two quick ones:

1. I thought that LH tried to keep round one teams from facing the same teams in round two. With only 12 teams in three pools it may not be feasible.

2. Looking at the pools, LH looks like they made one extremely competitive pool and two cakewalks (I won't elaborate which is which - self-evident...). I thought LH officials were "watching" in order to re-seed. Im guessing that is not the case.

At any rate, good luck to 12 teams vying for 5 spots! Handle biz and everything will shake out. :-)

I think LH re-seeds the teams strictly by how many points were earned in round 1. At least that looks like its the case for the 03's

Which pool did you think was the extremely competitive pool? I looked at the points for each team coming out of round 1 and it looks like LH spread the teams out based on points. I'm curious if anyone has any predictions on the 5 teams who will advance out of round 2?
