Red is a ridiculously solid group and every time Sting Black plays them it can go either way. (and no my dd does not play for red).
I believe exhaustion from having two earlier in the day games, with one of them being against Sting Black, just wiped them out, they are 10 year olds after all.
I can guarantee that when red plays fuego in JDL that the results will be dramatically different.

Hi "dd not play for red",

One year ago this time, red was head to head against Sting Black.

After that how many games you lost to Sting Black, DTS, and now to Fuego? The down trend is "ridiculously solid".

I think the two teams are still very competitive against each other.  Here are the results for them since June last summer.    I think Solar Red is top notch and this weekend doesn't reflect anything long term for the team.  

Feb 12 Sting 2 Solar 0
Nov 25 Solar 3 Sting 2
Sept 10 Sting 2 Solar 1
July 17 Solar 1 Sting 0
June 12 Sting 2 Solar 1

Sting Black has the better head to head record since the AP split but Colvin still has an outstanding bunch. These are the two top teams in DFW without question, but that doesn't mean they cannot be beaten either.  

Also, don't take anything away from Fuego by suggesting Colvin was worn down.  Fuego played a great game with minimal subs & short one of their starters based on what I was told.

If in reading my post it is inferred that I meant that Fuego was not a solid team, I apologize as that was not my intent. As a matter of fact I was very impressed with their play and only see continued improvement in the future for them under their new coach (whom I am a fan of). However, at this time I believe that they are not yet at the same level as Sting Black, Solar Red or DTS, but I believe they do fall right under those three and will come out ahead against either Springate team.

My thoughts are:

1) Fuego is a strong team and has proven it recently with wins over two excellent teams in Slammers & SR. I don't think it is fair to automatically assume that Fuego will lose next time they play SR. I do think it is fair to assume SR did not think Fuego was/is on their level prior to the loss. Therefore, it is fair to say SR will bring a high level of mental prep next time. Whether or not, the outcome will chance is TBD.

2) regarding SB v SR head to head, they played age Pure twice at the end of 2015 and SB won both. As such SR & SB have played each other a lot. Fact is SR is good competition for SB and if SB does not well SR can and have beat them. No way SB beats SR every single time. However, I think it is to fair to say that SB is the better team.

3) in order based on head to head results, I think SB, DTS, & SR are the proven top 3 with Fuego moving solidly into 4.

Of course sb is a better team. They have the biggest and fastest athletes in the age group.

Get real Folks! BLK * w/out SB is *less. SR and DTS super *'s want with SB has. SB team is bigger/faster/stronger than any combo of 06 talent. Good luck BLK* and don't be look'n at yo feet u might get run over by a real Athlete!

So the top 5 NTX 06 teams are in the top 20 in the nation and parents can't be satisfied with that? You've got to put together an even stronger team? Why? So you can talk at the water cooler about your 10-year old's domination? Guessing the DDs would rather play with their friends.

If Black Star was indeed formed (from primarily SB/SR) than the remaining players that were not picked to conquer the universe could be selective as to what new team they join or solid DDs from other clubs would fill in the holes on SB/SR. I still think NTX would have top teams, just different kids in different kits as per usual. The odds of the power 3 (or 5) staying together with ECNL, DA etc. are highly unlikely anyway.

If it's true that SB is believed to be the best 06 side because they are "bigger/faster/stronger", then they have a year or two left before they're passed up by the higher IQ, more skilled teams. Ya know ... real soccer.
