Good question. I just posted this in the other thread:
This might not be in the "We need to look into this Russia-thing" category, but something is certainly fishy about Bracket C. I, in an attempt to be objective, seeded each team on where they finished in league play last year. Nothing definitive as this is not my opinion of who's better than whom, just directional for comparison purposes:
1. Warriors - LH D3 – relegated
2. LP Shankly – LH D3 – relegated
3. Fever United Trevino (F: Hurst) – PPL Red – 1st place
4. High Plains Drifters – PPL Blue – 1st place
5. SPTX SEDEH (Sao Paolo) – PPL Red – 2nd place
6. FCD Youth Black – PPL White - 2nd place
7. Frisco Fusion – PPL Blue – 3rd place
8. Gremio USA - PPL White – 3rd place
9. Legacy FC – PPL Blue – 4th place
10. Texas Fury – PPL White – 5th place
Bracket C has seeds 6, 7, 8 and 9. Somebody who couldn't win their PPL division will make LH....guaranteed. Even worse, based on the fact that they play one another......1 of the "Top 2" wildcards will very possibly come from that division as well.
Lastly....who on the selection committee has something against Texas Fury. The lowest seeded team in my "make up a seeding list".....who do they play? Seeds 1, 2 and 3. Ouch.

What if you look at it from purely results in round 1 in terms of points earned per game average (since they all did not play equal games)
1. Warriors 9.5
2. Fever 7.33
3. Liverpool 7.00
4. FC Dallas 7.00
5. Drifters 6.00
6. Legacy 6.00
7. Sao Paulo 5.33
8. Fury 4.67
9. Gremio 4.50
10. Fusion 4.33
Bracket A has seeds 3, 5, 7
Bracket B has seeds 1, 2, 8
Bracket C has seeds 4, 6, 9, 10
Still way out of balance. Not sure why FC Dallas would move from the 9th seed in round 1 above the 4 teams that were ahead of them.

^^^ That is the way I view it, except I have FCD at 3 and LFC at 4 (tied in points per game, but FCD had the better goal diff) I don't know why it's so jacked up......I just know that it is.

Who knows the logic in the LHGCL seeding. Always seems to be confusing. Guess it adds to the whole QT. What I am still stuck on is the 9:30 then 1:30 game for everyone on Saturday. Why not a Friday night? Why not Saturday 7 PM??

I'm not sure where you guys get the seeding from. But, if you just take points scored last weekend and remove any conflicts from divisions in Rd 1, they are pretty straight forward:
Fever 22
Fury 14
Warriors 19
FCD Black 21
Fusion 13
Legacy 18
Gremio 9
LPS 21
Sau Paulo 16
HPD 18
You have 1,6,4 2,5,9,10 3,4,7 (based on RD 1 points)
Warriors and Gremio couldn't be together, otherwise you could swap Fusion and Warriors and it would be perfect inverse order 1,6,9 2,5,8 3,4,7.
Keep Gremio out of either of the 3 team brackets so a team doesn't random draw the least points team.

This is exactly why I did my calculation on an average points per game. You can't look at it from the most points because bracket A last week only played two games.

In round 1 Bracket A team's only played 2 teams (Warriors and whoever else). They had zero say in that. Warriors were the only unbeaten untied team in Rd 1. Pts earned divided by games played for the entire U16 bracket

LH made the correct adjustment for Gremio, otherwise Gremio could not be in round 2 having earned only 9 pts. Make the same adjustment for Warriors and they are #1 seed.

Fine except Bracket A was, by far, the weakest per rankings before the Qualifier. In fact, I was surprised they advanced 2 teams from that bracket. There were no adjustments made - to my eye - except separating teams from RD 1 and keeping the lowest point total by far(Gremio) out of a random draw for teams in the other bracket.
My point is why get hung up on "seeding". LH had to pair the teams some way. They chose to use points earned in RD 1(apparently) while respecting the idea that teams should not be in the same bracket 2 weeks in a row.
My guess is a team will have to win 2 matches to Qualify and there are no "automatics" in any of those brackets. In addition, the Saturday 1:30 game will be a challenge for everyone.
I'm not sure any team in the draw feels like they have an easy path in. It should be exciting!

Impossible to say. We won't know until after all the games are played and then LH's holds the random draw to decide which teams get in.
