June 2017 - This team has been in existence for less than a year. Our coach is also new to this club San Jose Earth Quakes, Development Academy. We enjoyed your film and saw a lot of physical play and hope when you view it you see both sides of the game. Be well.
I said your club and coaches, not your team and your coach. Of course there will be physical play from us too, we aren't going to sit back and take it...LOL...Odd that you know you piss of coaches in a full game yet it was no fault of your own that the girls didn't shake hands. Is that something that has happened to your team before? This is a first for us. Also a first for us to have a girl from the other team come and apologize for their team's behavior...Good luck on the tournament! You might want to let your girls know in this part of the country it isn't ok to talk to another team's coach. Don't care how high your team is ranked or how excellent their skills are, it's poor sportsmanship and it isn't ok.

Our number 9 is our tallest girl and as you can see she is shorter and smaller than quite a few of your girls. She would just be average size and height on your team.
We all agree the format is horrible. Interesting how you say the ref wasn't happy with our coach and that affected one of your players? How exactly does a ref getting on to a coach affect another team's player? Can't wrap my mind around that one unless the players were talking to the other team's coach...which is what happened. Like I said, the parents were great! Some of the best parents we've ever faced! The intensity on the field was something we haven't seen to this point. You'll really want to watch the 6:45 section of the second half when our midfielder gets taken out from behind and the side with no foul called. She's the one on crutches now. Video shows it clear as day...
I can't say her name on this board, but I'm not surprised. Has a mouth on her, too.

I thought the same thing.ColtMcVince wrote:She may have leaned in just a little bit but looked like a smaller girl getting the business end of a shoulder to shoulder play. The ref didn’t even call a foul. Sucks that she got injured but nothing to see here. Other than perhaps the mom hollering “she’s filthy” for all to hear.
And that goal didn't look like bad luck that bounced off of a player. Looked more like a good corner piece.
30 minute games are the worse. Futsal games last longer. Will Texans at least change qtrs and semis to full time games?

Re: 05 DGIC
Forgive him if he gets a little worked up. He can't help himself. Give him a couple of compliments about what a great team they've got, pat him on his head a couple of times, and he'll be on his way until DA season starts up in the fall.

Yea, who censored all those comments? Must have been good stuff. Being midnight and beyond, maybe the booze helped fuel their content. Either way, Okie's team will grow from that experience. Playing top competition only makes you stronger.

OkieEnergyDad wrote:If your girls keep talking to coaches in this tournament, be ready not to shake anyone's hands at the end of the game. You don't earn anyone's respect with that kind of behavior. These are 13 year old girls, it's a flat out shame that type of behavior is allowed. If my daughter talked to another coach and it didn't end in the word, "sir," it would not be pretty in my household, let me put it that way. LOL.
There are a number of teams around here that love physical play. Some even have a good smack game.

A few girls 5'6" 1-goalie, 2-center forward,3- mid and 4-defender. 8 just making 80 lbs. if that, of the 16 on the roster. OEFC about the same. Hard to play possession with the burning need to score. OEFC feeling the same stress. Game was physical on both ends, quakes used to playing physical teams despite our size, game was ugly ,and a far cry from a good game, and difficult to assess the match up of the two teams true ability. Best part was the parents that found SJ Quakes in the parking lot to pose for this picture. Good luck OEFC in the rest of the tourney.. hope we both can play a full true game. A few OEFC players- two small quakes not pictured.
8 kids under 80 lbs? Sure you're not 07's?

A two handed shove in the back. An elbow to the gut while jockeying for position on a throw in or corner — those are dirty. Both of which I have seen at this level. This is just physical play with a small girl going down hard.

1) Hope the girls is o.k. and the injury isn't serious.
2) Have to agree with Colt's assessment of the play
3) Unfortunately, playing on turf instead of grass contributed to the injury at least as much as the collision itself. Turf is great for getting games in when the weather isn't cooperating, but that's about it.
