ECNL 04 Girls Week 1

Here we go, Week 1 of the season with a full slate of games, let's get started!

9AM Kick at home for D'Feeters vs FC Dallas, this is the game of the week and I predict it will be a tight one. I could see this going either way but give the slight edge to FC Dallas 2-1 over Feet.

1PM OK Celtic vs Texans. Another home game for Celtic and after last weeks 6-0 loss to reportedly the best team in North Texas (Oklahoma Rumor mill post game...) I expect Texans gets out of this one with a 2-0 win.

2PM Classic Elite vs Challenge SC. I can say I don't know a lot about either of these 2 teams. But my soccer prediction brain tells me we give the slight edge to the home team and expect CE 1-0 over Challenge

3PM Sting Austin vs AHFC. I understand Sting Austin (and CE) both picked up Lonestar players after LS was left out of the ECNL party. With that said I think AHFC is still the team they were last year sitting #1 on the Texas Conference until proven otherwise and expect them to score a few this weekend. I expect a 4-0 win for AHFC over Sting A.

3PM Sting Black vs Sting Royal. ECNL wasted no time getting to the bottom of this one... who is the #1 Sting team... Questions... Has Royal had enough time to build the chemistry to compete with the big girls? Is LW magic back in the 04 Age group? Did Sting Black lose talent to Sting Royal... so many questions... I will give the edge to LW in this one but expect it will be very close SR 1-0 over SB

5PM TSC vs Solar. Solar travels up to Tulsa to start the season with this late afternoon kickoff. Lots of intrigue around this one... How are all the new pieces fitting together. In the end this is a game Solar wins by a lot predict it will be by 9+

DKSC was impressive last week as expected against an overmatched Celtics team. Looking forward to the game of the week: DKSC vs FCD.

1. Albion Hurricanes – will take care of business against Sting Austin but I expect a closer game than the 7-1 score last year. Sting Austin picked up a few players that should close the gap a little more. I agree with FriscoSoccer, they should be considered the best team until someone beats them.
2. DKSC- After an expected win, the FCD matchup will be much tougher. I expect a 2-1 DKSC win but wouldn’t be surprised if FCD won by a close margin either.
3. FCD-
4. Solar- Solar should win 4-0, but you can’t take TSC lightly. Although TSC had their share of losses last year, they also had good results against quality teams. Tied: Albion, Solar, Beat: DKSC, had a few close 1 goal games. 9+ goals seems a little much considering they didn't give up more than 4 in any game last year.
5. Sting Dallas Black- Playing a new Sting Royal team but this new team have many players with experience playing at this level + Lee W. I expect this to be a close game but Sting Black’s quality and time playing together should get them a win by a couple of goals.

If Albion were to finish as high as 3rd this year I'd be surprised ... 4th is more likely in my opinion.

Agreed though that DKSC may surprise FCD ... thinking a draw or 1 goal either way in this one ... I may try to catch this one!

TSC has not played the likes of Solar in quite awhile ... certainly didn't tie them last year -- unless you're referring to Solar's second team (ECNL) scratch

... I think it's a stretch to say that Solar won't break TSC's 2019-20 GA record right outta the gate.

LW is a bad man ... regardless.

Roddi is a tremendous defensive coach. Taking nothing away from how he is coaching during games. The 04s could have scored as many as 6 goals in Norman. Stick to basics , shoot the ball to the back post and have a runner or two making runs and goals will come. Too many times, 7 and 9 were shooting the near post. Texans should win this tsc game. their core is still the same team. Plus they added a few good supporting players.
