DTS and Fever in the same bracket? They're clearly 2 of the top 4 teams in this tournament IMO.

28 '02 teams, in 2 divisions, you would think you could get more than 1 team out of each pool and have quarterfinals.
tough if you get in the same pool as another top team, while a lower team may advance from another pool. Tough draw for DT South and Fever in the same pool. Not as big of a deal if you just have quarterfinal games.

I think you are totally right. Especially at this age, with teams changing and seeding a little dicey, you can get a bad seeding, or one bad game, and you are done. Big commitment for the weekend tourney, and very little margin for error.
Should have 2 teams per pool with quarter final games.

Looks like C & D bracket play play 2 games in pool, and one cross over game with the other 3 team pool, C & D. With only one team advancing from each pool, one loss in any of the 4 pools could keep you from advancing, depending how the other matchups turn out.
Some have very tough game time schedules as well. Many teams playing Friday night and early Saturday morning. Looks like several have Friday night games, and 8 AM games on Saturday morning. Looks like Spirit has an 8:45 PM game Friday night game, and back with an 8 AM game on Saturday morning. They could have at least given the Friday night teams the 9:30 time slot.
8:45 PM and then back at 8 AM the next morning is pretty tough on 9-10 year old girls, and the parents.

Sting Parker is a solid D2 team...plays well in tourneys from what I have seen. XLR8 I have never seen play but they played silver in SDL and did pretty well I think. I heard they had some big girls. I think they may struggle in this tourney...it might be a little over their heads but hopefully they can prove me wrong. I wish them good luck...hope they surprise folks. Sting East Gut was pummeled pretty badly last weekend...hopefully they will get better from the experience and keep playing hard. I think they are brand new and maybe a mix that hasn't had an opportunity to gel yet.

Definitely NOT COOL to play at 8:45PM then again at 8AM.

This is ridiculous scheduling, no matter the age. I see a couple of other teams with 7:30 PM and 8 AM as well. Both situations should have been avoided, at least giving Friday night teams the 9:30 time slot that others have. Some don't play Friday, and don't play until 9:30 AM.

As much time and money that parents put in to soccer, you think we would worry about the 1.5 hour of sleep for the parents over the well-being of the kids? Idiot.
Yes, actually it does matter for kids bodies and minds to eat, hydrate, rest, sleep, recover, etc. It is physically and mentally important. Soccer is suppose to be fun for the kids. Going to school all week and starting a game at 8:45 PM, past many kids' bed times, home after 10 PM, and hopefully in bed by 10:30 at the earliest. Then, up again at 6:15 AM to dress, eat breakfast, and drive to the field again for warm ups. Not the idea of fun for most kids.

Are you kidding? For those that live and hour or more away...that means getting home at 10PM or later then waking up at 5AM the next morning. That is very tough on a 10 yr old girl...even if it doesn't affect her play in the 8AM game...you can bet it will if she has a game later in the afternoon. She will be exhausted.

I have to disagree Kat. No reason they can't play another game...just give the folks with an 8:00 or 8:45PM game the 9:30 slot at least. I understand if there aren't enough fields or referees to do semi's. It just sucks that it is that way...IF the TD can't do anything about it, that's just how the cookie crumbles. BUT they can do something about what slots are given to Fri night gamers. IMO anyway.
