You have the roles mixed up....this demo is more likely Alejandro Villaneuva types teaming up with Trump supporters than anyone with enough courage to take a knee.

That would be something I might report to the league.

It has been and also to their coaching staff who at least appeared to be pretty ticked but could have just been a show...

Well, based on the post by the Coach, he was pretty ticked and very sincere about the entire parents sideline being a bit overzealous. Sounds like this might be a little overblown by the parents that were in attendance and less about the coaches and players. Maybe the players were responding the parents being the way they were on the sidelines? Sounds like there's a whole lot more to this story than just how the players were playing.

Props to JE5 for coming on this forum and taking this issue head on.  Another embarrassing display by parents on a sideline is not news unfortunately.

As important though... when does The Village People reunion tour start?

Not an isolated incident for this team as a couple other parents attested to.

Was it an isoloated incident to leave out the fact that one team did not get all 4 yellow cards? Or was it deemed not important to your rant.

Question my coaching all you want, anyone who knows me personally knows that I do not condone dirty play nor negative behaviour such as what allegedly occurred in the Americas game. I was not present at the initial Americas FC game at PLD but after speaking with my player she has denied calling the America's player the N word. Regardless, I personally approached the Americas coach and apologized to both he and said player on his team. As a coach I didn't approach the young lady due to the fact that she's not my player and I don't think any adult wants any other adult approaching their child without a parent being present. The young lady's dad was not at this game so I didn't get a chance to speak to him. As for the Spirit game, nothing and I mean NOTHING could be further from the truth. The game was physical yes but not dirty. I think parents on both sidelines were way out of control and quite frankly should be ashamed for conducting themselves the way they did. To yell out things like "watch out she's living large on that side" is absolutely disgusting. Coach Adam and I were both happy that the ref cut the game short as the parents were making it one huge spectacle of themselves. Spirit and Americas are both great teams with great players and great coaches but I refuse to let anyone bad mouth my girls and throw dirt on my name by making false assumptions and accusations. You got your calls my girls were carded twice your player also received a yellow. If you'd like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me directly. As for the Americas players dad, I hope to see you on the pitch as I'd really like to apologize face to face for anythung that may have been said. Racism is a cancer that is alive and well and again anyone who knows me personally understands what I stand for. Parents from a coach to parent I ask that you exercise restraint during these matches. We as adults set the example for these kids and for things to have gotten to the point that they did Sunday is just not right. We all share the blame top to bottom regardless of what you say on this forum. If you were there you know darn well all sides behaved very poorly. Here's my number of you'd like to address me personally. Thank you. 214-403-9056

Appreciate the sentiments JE5 but no need for an apology my way my DD holds her own out there... I firmly believe coaches coach and players play with
the values and tactics their parents tolerate. I will though say as a fellow coach (b-ball) when it it comes to your “alleged behavior” comment, we know if our players in question are capable of the behavior being reported.... With that said you do seem like a straight up guy appreciate you giving your perspective on this issue.

Well, now that this has all been cleared up....Let's create a checklist for those teams who face this unfairly ridiculed and Physical team, in the upcoming LHCL season and tournaments:

1) If your daughter has braces (many of the girls do at this age), THIS is the week to practice and play with a mouth guard.  You know the ones, boil, form, etc.  Your daughter will receive elbows and other shots to the face and head....protect her face and teeth.  We had 3 girls bleeding on their jerseys....but all in fair play.  BTW....make sure if she does begin bleeding she does it quickly and removes herself from the field expeditiously....our girls took way too long, apparently.
2) Watch some hockey, in preparation for your hockey soccer game!  When the player passes the puck and the defensive player lays into them smashing them into the boards...that's called a "Check".  Your daughter needs to be prepared to get "checked" every-time she touches the ball.  For some reason, our Lake Highlands officials have gotten a soccer "challenge" and hockey "checking" mixed up.  The whole concept of pass and move....not this game!  Pass, pick yourself up, brush off the grass and dirt and go get in there again.
3) Headers.  Now, you usually worry about the two opponents jumping and colliding their heads in an attempt to re-direct the ball usually in opposite directions, which has been known to cause these terrible looking collisions.  Well, not this week.....when your daughter leaves her feet.....the only thing you or she should be worried about is the landing.  Who knows what part of her body is going to be taken out from under her...legs swiped, "checked", or just used as a tackling dummy.
4) You may want to wait until the very end to take the lead and hopefully "WIN".  From our couple of meetings, clearly taking the lead means that they are not "CHECKING" well enough and there seems to be invigorated effort to finish each and every touch from the other team....more Physically.
5) As coach so clearly defined....stay very, very quite.....making parental pleas for the referee to observe or call anything "illegal" has a tendency to cause undue stress and upsets the players, leading to more "CHECKING" and may insight fouls to be unnecessarily initiated, as a result.
6) Forwards.....I'm just sorry.....you are the equivalent of a receiver trying to score on the football field.  You will be taken out, taken down from behind, cross-body "Checked", jersey grabbed/pulled, pray your pass, as you go down, doesn't come remotely close to your team mate.....you'll just get the "Play on" due to your advantage, from the referee.  But hey, you'll get another chance to score.
7) Seating.  May I suggest sitting down on the end line towards the exit.  After all, if #5 isn't working.....you don't want to get yelled at by opposing team players or their parents...also gives you a quick get-a-way, in the case you do win.

Remember some very important things before you discard my advice above:
1) We pay for this....ENJOY IT!
2) Soccer is a contact sport....we're just introducing some cool new moves!
3) Rules, we don't need any stinking rules!
4) Why show a yellow/red card, when you'll just interrupt girls giving girls high fives.  Be respectful!
5) Make sure your medical insurance premiums are paid up....just in case.
6) Bring one of those Clorox bleach pens, helps keep the blood from drying/staining their jersey.
7) Most importantly.....You've been warned!

This is soccer....have fun, enjoy the afternoon sun...your daughter is still young and will heal quickly!  Always look at the bright side!

D'Feeters Kicks Bringing the "Thug" Back to Soccer - Page 2 Empty Re: D'Feeters Kicks Bringing the "Thug" Back to Soccer

Post by JE5 25/09/17, 06:08 pm

Loventxsoccer, not sure what you have against me or my team. I've never once stated that my girls were not physical. But they're not a dirty team. I don't coach my girls to tackle with malicious intent. In this particular game my team received 2 yellow cards and rightfully so. But what was very troubling for me was that regardless of how much the opposing coach and I asked the girls to settle down and play their game, they were literally feeding off of the parents ' in going back and forth on the sideline. All I asked as a coach was for parents in both sides to own up and hold themselves accountable. When parents are yelling and shouting and saying things to incite aggressive play it's only going to result in someone's kid getting hurt. Point the finger at us all you want I'm giving you my observation. I've addressed my parents as I believe that the back and forth between the parents was the driving fierce behind both teams getting yellow cards for overly aggressive play. Again I'm not justifying nor condoning dirty play in simple stating that kids are very easily influenced by aggressive sideline behaviour. If the fact that the ref himself admitted that he cut the game short by at least 5 minutes due to the parents is not enough proof that both sidelines were out of control then I don't know what is. My teams play quality soccer and as a coach I preach 100% effort 110% of the time and I preach to show humility in victory and class and stature in defeat. I'm done beating this dead horse. If you have an axe to grind call me. I assure you I'll hear you out and who knows maybe we can even exchange points of views and at the very worst converse and ultimately agree to disagree. But to paint the picture that you're painting is just unfair. All the best to you and your DD.

Come on. Admit it all was just a little pushing. Rolling Eyes

D'Feeters Kicks Bringing the "Thug" Back to Soccer - Page 2 Empty Re: D'Feeters Kicks Bringing the "Thug" Back to Soccer

Post by SickofStupidity 25/09/17, 06:37 pm

WhatMyEyesSee wrote:Let's be clear, this Kicks team has always engaged in dirty play and the parents have always been what they are.  In the Plano Labor Day tournament last year a player on this team took out a player on our team with a running, blind side shot to the back twice in the first half that probably would have been flagged on an NFL field.  No call.  The referee was screamed at by one of the tournament observers at half time, something apparently was said to the coach, and play cleaned up somewhat in the second half.  In another tournament the parents were screaming at their players to punch the goalkeeper in the face.

The league tells the referees to let the kids play.  Sometimes this is taken to extremes in no calls where unnecessary risk of injury is quite apparent.  Until the league emphasizes with the referees that cards need to be pulled for dirty play, then it will continue.

As the skill levels of other teams have been raised over the years, and this team has tumbled down the rankings, I would expect their dirty play to become a greater problem over time.  It is unfortunate that someone will experience an unnecessary significant injury from the actions of this team that lacks soccer skills and has unethical coaching.  It will happen, it is a matter of time.

Coach - no one ever said that you teach kids to tackle with malicious intent, but to come on here and act like there was equal responsibility strains credibility.

Not the first time there have been issues with the parents on this team, won't be the last.

Hoping the coach can get his parents under control - but a reputation (which this team has) isn't established from a single incident.

This thread is similar to the 05 thead about "Twisted Parenting". This comment from above about forwards is right on (6) Forwards.....I'm just sorry.....you are the equivalent of a receiver trying to score on the football field. I just talked to Dana White... provided the '03's are willing to cut some weight, and the '07's are willing to play 10 v 10, he said he'd be happy to set up a unification match on the undercard of "LHGCL 1118" between D'Kickers '03 and KW's '07 White Walkers...
