I think they should take a knee at kick off.soccertard wrote:Clearly the only solution to this injustice is taking a knee before the next game against the Feeters.

Re: D'Feeters Kicks Bringing the "Thug" Back to Soccer
Parents need to shut their mouths, 90% don't know the rules of soccer and can't tell the difference between a penalty and a legal 50/50 play.......do refs miss calls??? YES OF COURSE THEY DO......
Do you think they are out there to get your DD hurt??? Absolutely Not
Also about the parents on the sideline encouraging dirty/hard play, it has been my experience once it happens or is talked about the common retort is SUZY DON"T LET HER PUSH YOU LIKE THAT, YOU DO TO HER WHAT SHE DOES TO YOU.........or something to the effect

Can you envision the carnage?
FCD Texoma takes a knee at kickoff - and D'Feet plow through them.

But at the end of the day, doesn't it really come back to the parents and coaches? Did the referees stop play at all during the match to address the coaches about how the parents were acting on the sidelines? If so, did the coaches do their due diligence and address the parents and tell them to shut it? No? Did anyone go get a Lake Highlands representative DURING the match to come watch or "keep an eye" on the match? Did anyone alert the field marshals to go get a Lake Highlands representative during the match? I only ask as we've had matches like that in the past and once a Lake Highlands representative was alerted to the issues the banter quieted considerably, mostly because they would stand right behind the parents during the remainder of the match - very nerve wracking mind you. So as I read through all this calling out of one team and why isn't Lake Highlands or the referees being held accountable, did the parents of either team take necessary steps to inform the folks that need to be informed so accountability could effectively be held? NOT after the game completed, but during the actual match when things were actually happening. That's what those people are out there for. They are out there to alleviate these types of issues and to "watch" when things get out of hand so there is a Lake Highlands set of eyes on the problem, not just a he said / she said kinda thing which is really what this forum is - a bitching platform. No reason to let things get out of hand and play into the hands of those that relish that kind of stuff when you have the resources right there at your fingertips that can fix the problem on the spot and things don't have to get to that point.
So anyway...it sounds like those feet parents were carazzzzyyy.

If not?
Where does the responsibility of referees lie then? The refs KNEW there was a problem that got so bad they decided to end the game early.
Ultimately, the refs lost control of play and had to abandon the match.

There's another problem right there - should parents REALLY be saying anything to the referees? And someone asked why it's so hard to keep good referees, cause once you're a referee parent you forget that your a referee first and a parent second - that's a double "keep it quiet during the game" badge of honor.

Maybe BigE could host some type of viewing party at his dd's game next weekend? Provide some live play-by-play assessments during the game on how much better the DA soccer is.
Get Sheets to come out to provide color commentary?

I think I stated it somewhere in the middle of all those vowels and consonants - go get a Lake Highlands representative to watch what's going on, at least you then have a representative (official set of eyes) available to see what you're complaining about. I think there's also a form or something on LH website that the coach can fill out regarding the referees that gets reveiwed but I'm pretty sure only the coach can fill it out and send it in - not a manager or a pissed off parent or even a referee licensed parent. You'd have to check on that one as it's been a several years since something like this has been a problem for a team my DD has played on. I did realize just because I didn't like what was happening on the field didn't mean my coach saw it the same way.
Listen, I know I keep preaching to get a Lake Highlands person over there but they have done wonders being out there and helped my DDs teams in the past with similar issues and after talking to our AGC at the time, he said that they are the eyes and ears when things go sideways at the fields and don't condone the type of behaviour being shared here. So, I preach and go watch a DA game for sanity cause this kind of thing would never happen at one of those matches.

Ooooo yes! I could do my best John Madden impersonation. Untuck my shirt, mess my hair up and make my tie look all crooked. In a guttural voice say something like, "When it's raining the field gets wet, then all of a sudden everyones running slower".SickofSilliness wrote:soccerjack wrote:Maybe those girls should attend a DA game this weekend...that might help.

My guess is if a LH representative came over and tried to tell a ref how to officiate the game at that time and did not wait till after the game to discuss they would find themselves out in the parking lot just like any parent would doing the same thing. If the ref was so inclined to do so. Especially if they happen over and watch a few minutes and feel they have a better understanding of what the game needs instead of someone who has been there from the start. Anyone ever seen a LH cat come over and start telling a ref what to do?
Well, you totally missed the point as per usual on this forum - they have no right to tell the refs how to do their jobs, but they can help remove the parental factor AND be a second set of eyes when someone ACTUALLY makes a referee complaint via the forms on the website. AND you have that LH official there to corraborate what happened when the time comes - if needed. They serve many factors and many times can make a call to someone who DOES have the official word on the referees if they deem it to be THAT bad. And IF the play no longer resembles the reason that person was called over to begin with, I guess that took care of itself didn't it? Shoot holes where you like, blame who you like but if you don't make an official report as a coach or team manager to the right people, your bitching is just that - bitching. Do something constructive that actually does something instead of bitching on a forum where people will either agree or disgree and still do NOTHING to actually get it reported to the right people. i.e. NOTHING gets fixed. Easy Holly I dont go throw rocks at you when you are bowling so just chill out. Many refs will tell you that if it is not one sided they will let the girls play. One sided then cards come out. From what this thread has taught us, it was far from one sided. I get you, go get the rep so he can tell the overbearing parents with the joysticks and sore throats to calm down. That may even work, but what about the girls on the field? They are the ones playing and falling. I wasnt there so I do not know but I have seen my share of these matches. All the same.HeadHaunter wrote:KeeperCommander wrote:Maybe I am wrong but why go get a LH official? They have no authority over a game ref do they. None that I know of. Player falls, parents blame the kid next to them.
Player gets pushed, same blame, but now you have a pissed off kid and her friend is pissed too. They will get even. That is sports. Doesnt mean it is right, it just means it happens, but that is the match that lights the fire. If it happens enough then it is 22 girls on the field at the same time, pissed. Thats the kerosene of the whole thing. Beginning to sound like this last game. Now you add the illiterate parents to the mix and you have just introduced the atomic bomb to the battle. What you fail to see Holly because you are probably reading the script to your next crappy movie is the parents probably caused most of the major problem. As usual you are looking for someone else to blame.

Changed my Name just for you (and SoSsy)... - not sure I'd say illiterate parents but overzealous might be a good word and yes, that does detonate the A-Bomb or a series of F-Bombs. But I don't fail to see it, I mentioned it exactly as you stated the script itself - it starts and ends with the parents, can you control them? Nah, but you can try to slow the ticker down on that bomb before it blows... you have to start somewhere. Besides, what's wrong with reading a script to a crappy movie? Sometimes you gotta wade through the crap to get to the polished turd.
By the way - if you're here, who's running hell?
