Parents forget mature issue less then coaches. How many coaches in Texas yelling harsh language and yelling threatening things to little girls? I see many coaches who are treating young girls like they are 18 or 20 year boys. Stupid. For most kids complementary things said work better then harsh things said.

There are quite a few of the coaches that also coach college...they forget there is a HUGE difference in how a 10 or 11 yr old needs to be addressed and how a 16 yr old can handle being addressed...especially on the field with an audience of team mates and parents.

Very true- In reference to carli Loyd , she is a grown full developed woman-soccer wise. These kids are 10 years old and still learning and developing . They can practice until blue in the face but nothing takes the place of game experience and they need to play in the games, and have the coach show confidence in them. These families have stuck it for the sake of the team - but sooner or later need to do whats best for their dd and their family. If a coach is set on treating a handful of girls different and mostly developing thses select girls and the dd and parents are not ok with this -they should go. Particular team had unusual cirmustances going into select -not many games with the coach -not many comptetive tournaments to see him in that situation.Once they hit select the suspected favortism comes pouring out and parents are standing with checkbooks in hand saying WTH did I just do.Were they conned-probably not , just circumstancial events -rained out tournaments - some cancelled games. Some needed more time to see coach in action to see if dd's would be a valued members or team -rather than a team based on 2 players who are allowed to do as they wish when the rest are treated differently. All coaches have favorites but it should not be apparent to 10 year old kids.
