not sure. I won't be here Sunday and I think at least a couple more may be out of town. We definitely don't have enough to field a team. A reschedule would be nice but guess we can't get girls from Dalglish so unless we can pull from some other LP team or pull up rase 05 girls I don't see how but as far as I know its not cancelled yet.

LP moves players around so much, you never know who you are playing. Gotta get that name up top as many times as possible. In a couple of years, when rosters are frozen, I guess we will see how many actual LP "teams" there are.

These two teams have set rosters. My DD has been at LP for a while now and I'm surprised at how little they do move players around.

I wouldn't know. Rase hasn't moved girls and thats my only team experience so will have to take your word for the others. You seem to have all of the LP knowledge so we can go ahead and say LP will just move some girls around and make the game happen. They do it ALL THE TIME

Hey, just to clarify, where are the dividers between tiers? I would have thought Dalglish was a tier 1 team, not a tier 2 team.

I caught that detail as well. If Tier I is top 5, which I'm sure it is, then they were Tier I then as well as now.

Best thing about 04's on this site...all threads eventually end up being a RASE / Dalglish discussion ;-)

Rankings tier assignment in FBR is based solely on game results. It is independent of any league/division assignment. While you will generally see that the ranking tiers will fall along the lines of the actual ranking positions, ranking tier assignment is also completely independent of actual FBR rank. It is possible for team from a lower tier, to be ranked higher than a team(s) from a higher ranking tier.

Keep in mind that what matters to a team's FBR calculation, is not what ranking tier that team is assigned to, but rather what ranking tier a team's OPPONENTS are assigned to.

For more details on how the ranking tiers assignments are determine and adjusted over time, please go here: http://www.ntxsoccer.net/rankings.aspx

As of today, RASE '04 is the only team in Tier 1, by virtue of having the only unblemished record (no losses, no ties) against other '04 competition since the beginning of fall league play.

Tier 2 is currently:
DT Scott
DT South
Fever
GSSC Thunder Blue
LP Barnes
LP Dalglish
Piper East
Solar Kennington
Sting Scarfone
Tx. Spirit Clark

Tier 3 is currently:
DT North I Rosales
FC Dallas Predator
FC Dallas Premier
Juventus Black
Lady Aztecs
LP Owen
Odyssey
Solar Chelsea Gold
Solar Red Crushers
Sparta Red
Sting East Chacon
Sting Cuevas
Sting Searls
Sting White Goodman
Tx. Spirit North Red

Not going to bother listing Tiers 4, 5, & 6 at this point.

Another excuse for RASE and Dalglish not to play again?

who said it's not going to happen? 10'sdad said LP moves players around all the time. I won't be there and a few other Rase players won't be there. No idea about the Dalglish team. Just a tip to the league. The weekend before spring break people go out of town. They are often back by the weekend after so that the kids can be prepared for school. just a thought

This explains so much. Thank you!

Any chance of putting the tiers in the results each week?

Slim to none because of the extra cut-n-paste work required to put them together in a post, and because of the endless questions I'll get every week about why their DD's team is in Tier X instead of Tier X-1, and how can a team from Tier X+1 be ranked higher than their DD's team that's in Tier X...

I do try and post the tiers every couple of months or so, but every week will not happen.

Yes, well everyone knows that LW controls the school districts and spring break schedules. In fact, I'm sure I saw a memo he put out to the school districts and private schools last year requesting that spring break occur during the scheduled RASE/Dalglish game. How he knew the exact date last year, I'll never know, but we can add clairvoyant to his repertoire of skills. All I know is that we will be having family fun hitting the slopes, game or no game. It's SPRING BREAK people!!! Very Happy

I guess RASE is going to forfeit their TGPL game Saturday against Odyssey '03 also? I mean, if you can't field a team and all.

Previous games/opponents are affected. There's valid arguments for treating it either way. It easier and more straightforward in FBR to have the current tier assignment apply to all games in the history, and the reality is that the current tier assignment is based on a teams' cumulative performance over the current history period in the database.

I don't know who misses saturday because I didn't look. The question was about the sunday late afternoon game. But yes I guess they could borrow dalglish girls for saturday and not sure how many dalglish has but they could borrow rase if needed. But then there would be the cries of stacking dalglish with rase girls during for their game. Not sure how that would work sunday though. Tough to borrow girls from dalglish if thats who you are playing. But hey even if we weren't going out of town I would probably sit out just so I could see you guys cry about it. This is too good, I mean I am sure the trip will be nice but the lamenting and wringing of hands on the board is priceless Laughing

We both know there won't be any Dalglish players on the field Saturday at the RASE game. And as far as Sundays game........ wasn't gonna happen, no matter what day it would have been scheduled. If the Dalglish girls and parents weren't sure what the coach thought about them before, they sure will Sunday afternoon.

Have a safe trip.

Post by go99 07/03/13, 07:34 am

thats right we will be playing 03's on saturday. Could borrow rase 03 players. We do have a 12 man roster so it only takes a couple of players and we can't field a team. But you know LW better than I do. You guys are close personal friends. He probably told you the game would never happen over beers right after he confessed how much he hates the dalglish team and everything they stand for (whatever that is). You might be in luck though. Don't rain outs get rescheduled?

Have fun staying in NTX obsessing over a game between 2 teams you aren't with.

I didn't say there was anything illegal/immoral/etc. about it. Just said it happens quite frequently. And to be honest, I am not a fan of that practice.

What cracks me up is all the LP posters that claim loudly that they don't share players, but...everyone knows they do, and some are even up front and admit it.

What I don't like is when LP northwest-southeastern-red (yeah..I borrowed some DT terminology there) plays in a lower level tournament and loses their first group game or is facing tough competition in the playoffs. All of a sudden, here come a few players that weren't there at the start, and gosh! they just happened to be stud players that "had a conflict with the earlier games" or something. LP goes on to be "champions" for that tournament.

Do the less skilled girls get to play in RASE games? What happens to the player that plays the position that the borrowed player plays? (ummmm...bench for the rest of the tourney). What happens to the team dynamic? Yay! we won!! (did we??...well, we got a trophy, so we must have) Meanwhile, LP claims to win every tournamnent to show "results" of their development academy....

Its masterful marketing, and they have some very skilled girls, but I am just not buying it.

I just realized I may have lit the fuse on the LP parents...not my intention.. all the big clubs do it, so I am not singling you out...

My point is that I feel guest playing should be for evaluating prospective recruits, NOT for bringing in ringers (that are already in your club) to improve a result.

I can't speak for liverpool I really only know my team. Rase 04 doesn't have girls going around to stack LP teams we are too busy playing our own games. I do agree guest players should be used for evaluation or maybe to fill a short roster
