'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 11-19-13

A little shuffling around in the top 10. Gotta love tournament time!

Scott - back on top. Looks like they have added a little muscle to their soccer game. Glad I didn't give up my seat on the bandwagon.

DTS - where was DTS? At any rate I am still expecting big things from this team. Still haven't had the opportunity to see the C Ronaldo of the south showcase but I hear great things.

the left footies - Does Dalglish have Shea kryptonite sliders or something? WTH. I saw some talent seemed a little unorganized especially from a  king kenny team

Tx spirit - Is this the team with "the player"? Hows it looking over there?

Dalglish - Welcome back to the top 5, we missed you. One word "consistency". "The quali-E is unacceptable." Some days are on fire and others are "what team is this?"

Outside the top 5? What's that?  Oh DAMN!!! I just managed to insult 95 teams all in one swoop. Can someone check? I think I just set a forum record  . Don't you get one of those fancy stars or something?

Okay honorable mentions:

The Stings seem to be coming together. When do we see the super sting.

Barnes - I am expecting top five. Sometimes you guys seem to catch whatever the hell dalglish has. Oh and the magical rase sliders and techfit tops are in the mail.

Lady aztecs - Was that you guys that handed the beatdown to Dalglish? If so feel free to gloat in a very public fashion. They deserve it (tough love guys)

NO idea. I thought she was with pulpdaddy over at solar.

Sting Chacon is really improving. I think Sting will crack top 4-5 in Spring no problem.

Question though for FBR on DT Scott and DTS. How does 18-6 have more points than 18-1 versus the same competition? Didn't DTS last beat Scott and all of the other top 10 teams going undefeated in fall play? Am I mistaken and did Scott in fact beat DTS?

Not sure on the DTS vs Scott game. But my guess on why Scott is higher would be the Comp. in SDL P and SDL D1 is tougher than PTCL. Therefore Scott played more games against top 10 teams than DTS. DTS still beat everyone but didn't play as many tough teams. Again just guessing. Both are very good teams and deserve to be where they are.

WingNut is correct. They have not played the same level of competition this fall.

In the current FBR History:

DT Scott has played 24 Tier1, 3 Tier2, and 1 Tier3 opponent
DT South has played 11 Tier1, 7 Tier2, and 3 Tier3 opponents
(The difference is due to DT South playing PTCL on Sunday's vs. DT Scott playing SDL Platinum).

DT Scott is 13-6-4 against Tier1, 5-0-0 against everyone else
DT South is 9-1-1 against Tier1, 9-0-1 against everyone else (0-0 draw vs. Mustangs in PLD tourney on 8/31)

DT Scott has significant SoS advantage over DT South. More total wins/ties against Tier1 teams for DT Scott offsets DT South's higher win %. DT South has a better MoV, which you would expect from playing weaker opponents than DT Scott.

Now, South did beat Scott 1-0 in their only Head-to-Head matchup in the current history. However, FBR does not have any kind of head-to-head filter, so that game simply counts a win over a Tier1 team for South, and a loss to a Tier1 team for Scott. So, at the end of the day, it simply comes down to a numbers thing, and the total numbers currently slant slightly towards DT Scott, due to having played (and won) more games against Tier1 opponents.

Would I prefer that DT South was ranked ahead of DT Scott because of their Head-to-Head? Sure. Am I going to lose sleep because DT Scott is ranked 1 spot ahead of a team that beat them 1-0, but played a clearly weaker overall schedule? Nope.

See now 4DaLuv, Bdub's magic formula took care of the overrating. We dropped 3 spots. Now, I still don't get how some teams that don't play at all can move up..or how some team lets say gets trucked 4-0 by a team rated several spots lower, but their ranking isn't really affected..or.. Actually I do understand, the rankings are just a very accurate guide that adjusts as new data replaces old data over time.

wow south has as many games in tier 2 and 3 as they do tier 1. Interesting strategy. Has the new King stepped in to take the Texan crown?  defacto ruler of all things texan 04 or does south still have a little fight left in it?

I would bet they both will be in the Texan Fall Festival which is coming up.

DT South gets their shot this weekend (weather permitting).  Pool games against LFS Black and FCD Premier, plus possible matchups against Lady Aztecs and DT Scott in the semis/finals.

They will also see a sizeable jump in about 4 weeks when their PLD results drop from their history (their only loss and both ties were in PLD).

I can deal with 2 DTS taking turns at 1 and 2....still a constellation prize considering RASE out beating on little boys butts like nuns!!

It's clear who the #1 04 team is and it's clear who #2,3,& 4 is. The rest is up for grabs. After this weekend, regardless of the weather, both DTS's and LFS will still be ranked the same. Dalglish can keep trying to rise with guest players, but we all know they're #5.

I haven't heard from the Sting organization on the new super sting kits so I am assuming thats a no go so I am gonna call it here.  A RASE, Dalglish, Barnes combo in the top 5 by qualifying. Scott stays in and the rest of the big dogs get to fight over that last bone.

Recent results have shown it's certainly NOT clear who are the clear #2, 3, and 4 teams. Seems like everyone has beaten everyone at some point.
As far as Dalglish being a #5 team, I see them higher. They are at least better than LFS who they have smashed 3-0, 5-1, and 4-0 in their last three meetings (12-1 goal differential  ). That team looks to be in decline.

When Dalglish lost to Chacon this weekend did they have a certain player playing that game as they did in the Scott and Aztec game? Obviously they had her in LFS 4-0 game. Just curious. They don't seem to do as well without her.
