Yes... they are hunting trophies in a trophyless tournament. Good idea.

I think you get the idea. What they're "getting ready for the season" by playing teams in D3. Yeah ok.

Not sure what their mindset it. But, I can assume he / she made the call to play up in an effort for better competition without knowing the tournament would be lightly attended. I would imagine Sting lost several of their ECNL players to DA clubs and may just want game time. Who knows, maybe some of those D3 teams will give them a run.

Playing "up" may even it out some, but the ECNL team should still run away with it.  Celtic Shirley is a D2 team and could give them a run.  They have some skilled players.  I don't see DFeeters (kicks) or Spirit North doing very against them.  LP and SRFC can play too.   I heard both of those teams added some quality players recently.  I could see an upset against Sting happening.

Must be a typo, I mean the ECNL coach would be a complete idiot to sign up for this tournament. Would be more productive to scrimmage LHGCL D1 teams or scrimmage older team within same club. WTF?

Who is the coach?

Because I like to root for an underdog........ I'll take the over/under on the indie team "SRFC" Smile

Well I stand corrected. Looks like Sting ECNL took care of Celtic pretty easily. I don't see anyone beating them.

Sting 05 ECNL is also playing the Tut, but not fairing quite as well.

Gold bracket seemed pretty even...except for the ECNL team of course Rolling Eyes Also looks like Spirit could be in for a long season. Hope I'm wrong, Sid is one of the good guys.

Sid and his crew are good guys, but Spirit had a large coach/team departure this summer, leaving them with only 8 select teams. It is too bad, but I fear small Indy's like Spirit won't be around much longer unless they are in locations outside big club reach.

Meanwhile parents clamoring for spots on teams who's sole purpose is to help pay for boys scholarships.
