ECNL 04 Girls Week 13

I'm taking a wild guess based on the calendar it's week 13 lol. Anyone have scores from this past weekend? As usual, ECNL website slow to update. Only score posted so far is SDB vs TSC.  Also saw on twitter FCD beat S Aus Sat and wiped out CE on Sun.

Sat:
FCD 2 vs S Aus 0
SDR vs CE

Sun:
FCD 9 vs CE 0
SDR vs S Aus
DTX vs OKC
TSC 3 vs SDB 2

Still looking like top 3 are set, and 4-8 position are anyone's for the taking. Think ultimately Albion will grab 4th, then TSC, SDB, C, S Aus in that order. All will be going to some sort of playoff/showcase in FL in Jun/Jul.

BTW, when are the Solar/FCD matchups? I assume the 2 they played in Dallas Cup did not count toward league games?

Can't speak to the past weekend's scores dtk, but do know that the top 30 in the country (which currently include Solar, FCD and DFeet) will be competing for a National Championship in the Champions League playoffs in FL June 30-July 7 ... with the final four happening in VA later in July.

And no ... the DC matches aren't recognized in the ECNL standings -- However, U17 FCD and Solar meet this Sunday 4/25, 11am at MG.  Should be a good one, especially given that Solar are down a couple due to recent ACLs.

Solar and FCD did NOT play this weekend. The word is that Solar cancelled the FCD games Sunday due to not wanting to play a "rested" FCD, as Solar did in fact play Saturday. Texans cancelled all of their games with FCD Saturday as they were unable to find turf or use their own fields?!

As background, that is the ECNL rule and it requires 100% of the affected coaches to waive it. If one coach says no, it veto's the entire set of matches. A club cannot pick and choose some yes's and some no's.

The baffling thing to me is that these clubs cannot "find turf" or have satisfactory back up plans. OKC wiped out all of their matches vs Albion on Sat (and probably won't be made up due to travel constraints and lack of play dates). It was also a complete cluster up in Tulsa to get games in b/w Challenge and TSC b/c of not having back up fields ready to go w/ insurance waivers in place. Then on Sun, OKC consolidated down to smaller # of fields which caused game times to be shuffled and travel interrupted. Anyone could have pulled up the weather forecast for Fri night and it was showing widespread rain throughout Oklahoma/TX. Why these clubs are not more prepared is beyond me. SMH

I am not sure how many turf fields there are in various cities. You can try to use high school football fields but often they do not contain full width soccer fields. In addition, the league wants to have all games in one spot, primarily for administrative purposes and to let coaches handle multiple games. Ideally you want three fields in one spot. Gateway has that but not sure where else you can do that.

I agree with you! It's absolutely ridiculous how ill prepared most clubs are for the rain! Or, how little investment goes into managing the fields they have. I know Toyota is perhaps not the best example, but they played games ALL weekend. Why couldn't the Texans play games this weekend? Was Ross Stewart flooded on both Sat and Sun? High school fields were also mentioned...and yes, there are plenty of those in DFW! It's sad how little effort goes into getting these games played..
