04 Girls - Week 6 SDL Scores

Post the 04 Girls scores here for Week 6.

Good game...Solar scored 3 in first half...all Stud forward! Beardsley dominated 2nd half and Shots were probably about equal for whole game! FYI...Beardsley only used one Dalglish player and that was the goalie.

Are you implying she left because they were not "worthy" for her name?

After watching a few of the top D1 04 teams this weekend, I'd like to know if they are starting to struggle or is it just that the lower D1 and top D2 teams are catching up? The Liverpool Beardsley team played great and the score could have gotten a lot closer to Solar Kenn.

The Spirit tie with Rowdies was also a surprise to me.

Both Beardsley and Solar are good teams....what makes Solar get to the next level is their Studette forward! Put her on Beardsley and they win! Both teams were both skilled and aggressive, but Solar has that 1 difference maker and Beardsley doesn't. My dd plays for Dalglish and she has a bunch of friends on Beardsley...and the one thing Beardsley is missing is that 1 forward with that awesome foot! Beardsley had a bunch of chances yesterday....their girls dribbled/passed with skill all the way to goal then BAMM....slow roller right to goalie! I know in time the finishing strength will come and that is the biggest difference between Beardsley and Dalglish...Dalglish has about 8-9 girls that would of finished at goal with a booming shot! And out of those 8-9 girls my dd isn't one of the stronglegged ones.

Oh...and as for Rowdies and Texas Spirit....don't underestimate Texas Spirit....they have3-4 really skilled players that would make any 04 team a lot better! Rowdies aren't to be taken lightly either, not that anyone ever does! You can bash their coach and his coaching habits all you want but one thing is for sure...his girls have talent. I know because my dd played with a majority of them! If DM gets his hand on that Solar Studette ......I would pay $$$$ to watch the Rowdies vs. Dalglish!! Owe wait I already do pay $$ to watch Dalglish, but you know what I mean!

This just goes back to what I say, the top 4-5 04 teams are fairly even....

Just gotta stick your hand in that bees nest.....

The Solar player can be a difference maker at times but she also has "off" games just like most other 7 year olds. Solar Kennington has been so successful this season because:
1. They have a goalie that has developed into one of the top 04 goalies.
2. They have a couple of defensive players that can shut people down and have won a couple of games for Solar almost by themselves.
3. They have a couple of players with blazing speed that can get the ball down the sideline very quickly and cross it to the middle.
4. All of the players are skilled
5. When some players aren't playing well, other players have stepped up and played well.

Solar Kennington isn't a "super team" but they are learning to play very well together.

This is just MY Opinion, but I Think EVERY D1 Team is Talented Enough to Beat Any Other D1 Team on Any Given Day...As GENERIC as that Sounds, I Firmly Believe that...Since Joining the Spirit, my DD has Played the Rowdies 3 Times, Losing Twice & Tying them this Past Sunday...The Rowdies are an EXCELLENT Team but @ No Point did I Feel like the Spirit COULDN'T Play w/them...

On the Flipside, the Spirit BEAT the Texans-Rosales Team in Last Fall's SDL League, yet they SMOKED Us 2 Weeks Ago...The Bottom Line is, 04's AREN'T Always Dialed in, No Matter How Badly Us Parents would Like them to Be...In my DD's Academy Tenure, the Spirit Only Encountered 1 Team that I TRULY Felt was BETTER than Them...

The best girls on most D1 teams are similar in talent. I have seen most of them play. What makes one team stronger than the other is the rest of the roster. In MY OPINION, Dalglish probably is overall the strongest because of the strength of their entire roster. Then I would say Solar, Rowdies, and DTS in no particular order.

There are top players on TX spirit, Rosales, and Fever. However, I do feel like the bottom half of their rosters are not quite as strong. Again, this is just my opinion. But it does explain the current standings. I don't want to knock any team, but I'm just saying it like I see it. On any given day, any team can beat the other but some teams are more likely to win.

In my experience, top D1 teams will do well against D3 03 teams. The games would be competitive with D2 teams, sometimes winning and sometimes losing. D1 03 teams are the only ones I've seen play top 04 teams that are clearly better. They play with much more organization and a faster pace.

It will be interesting to see the player movement and pick-ups in the off-season. There are still many great players out there in rec. Favoritism and egos, especially on a top team, can dismantle a team. How often have you heard, "Why can't my DD play forward and score?" "Why doesn't my DD play more?"

Can Dalglish stay together? If they can, they will continue to be good. The lure of the Rowdies is always there with a chance to play on the top Texan team. Will the Solar parents get tired of hearing about the one man show? How soon before the top girls from TX spirit, Fever, and Rosales start getting calls? Maybe they have already. The drama continues...

Think you are spot on! Of course, if a couple of the Dalglish girls drop down to Beardsley, they too might make a D1 team.

Why does Dalglish have such a large roster?

They have 10 on the roster I think but the team is a combination of some new kids and some girls that have been together. So it is not a super team constructed to get wins. LW has made some attempt to keep friends together which is important at this age. At some point I would expect that he will make a true top team and you could see a few beardsley and maybe a couple of Keegan girls come up. To me the risk is not really with losing the daglish girls, it's with losing the top Beardsley and Keegan girls before you can make a top team. The sweet siren song of the coaches and their "top" teams. Sweetly singing to parental egos "hey your dd is good enough to be on a top team".
