Like I said I know it's the first week just a little surprised. Oh!! And congrats to the three first place teams FC Dallas Premier, FC Dallas South and Fever.....way to start the season strong!!! Just makes it that much more interesting to see the season play out. Good luck to all the teams and DD's out there. It's gonna be a great season!!
Higgs is 2-0 with 10 goals scored and only 1 against. You can throw out the standings right now as they are more about who had to play who. Some teams had tough first weekend matches and some did not. DT South/Dymano are not going to be anywhere near 10th or 12th place by the end of the season.

Higgs is 2-0 with 10 goals scored and only 1 against.
That is a good point. What is the tie-breaker? Is it goal-differential? That would shuffle the order some. Right now, as the teams are listed, the tie-breaker for all of the teams with 6 points is goals allowed.

Head to head is the first tie breaker, after that I believe it is goals scored, not differential. May be wrong though....and it is a different tie breaker for GC and promotion. A few seasons ago a team got GC in D2 but didnt get the promotion.

From LHGCL website. I think this will answer a few lingering questions.
4. End of Season Tie Breakers: If two (2) or more teams are tied in the number
of points, the tie will be broken as follows (except as stated in 6 below):
a. Winner of head-to-head competition.
b. Team with most number of wins.
c. Fewest goals allowed in season games.
d. Most goals scored in season games.
e. Goal differential (goals scored all season minus goals allowed all season.
Team with highest differential wins higher position in standings.
Maximum of 3 goals for or against allowed per game).
f. Best record against common opponents.
g. The team with the fewest yellow and/or red cards will finish in the higher
position. NOTE: Only points accumulated in LHGCL play (regular
season) will be used for this calculation.
h. Elimination game(s) if time permits. Opponents determined by random
draw if more than two teams are tied for one position.
i. Coin toss.
j. In the event a game or games have been forfeited, if any other of the tied
teams played the opponent that forfeited to the other tied team(s), then all
the games against that opponent will be omitted before calculating the
points and/or standings.

Re: LHGCL Week 1 Results
Due to tie-breaker 4(c), LHGCL for many years have rewarded defense-minded teams. A team winning by 1-0 will get a better standing than a team winning 5-1 against a common opponent.

More of a response to a previous question in the thread wondering why DT Higg was rated as they were. They are not just "tie breakers" they are also how the rankings take place. Peace....
