Re: Tournaments this weekend - May 10-12th, 2013
Now, if the girls werent rostered correctly, and our technically ineligible to play, that is either a lazy manager or coach, but in academy who cares. They can bring anyone they want, and so can you, shut up and play. I am 100% sure they are not the only team playing this weekend that did not go through all the hoops to add a few players in the correct manner to their roster.
Also, if you are so low to call a roster check at half time of an academy game and find out a technical error, you either stop the game there or if you agree to play, you agree to the outcome. You can't say you are going to play it out and whine if you don't win.
Bottom line, the Texan group of little girls beat the Sting group of little girls on Sunday. What does it mean, nothing. It was one game on one day at a point where rosters are fluid. Trust me, in a few years you will be sick and tired of these stupid medals. I am so beaten down to by medal presentations, and soon you will be too.

shame on you for taking time to write these lies. its one thing to react in the heat of the moment but to have parents come on hear and find ways of defending her is a shame. I would have hoped that yall would have talked to her already about her reaction, but I guess your fear of being left off the next tournament is greater. Explain that to your kids.
Did you talk to your coach about how it is NOT okay to cheat? Did you talk to your kids about how your team did not get their medals because their own coach cheated?
truth be told, I sure did. I told her an adult(s) made a mistake and broke a rule and that caused our team to by DQd. Told her" Im proud of you girls for staying in the game and winning it" but it was an adult(s)'s mistake this time. Her response-"I still get my t-shirt right?" Gotta love her.

I am far from where I would like to be as a person, but my kids deserve every ounce of energy to be great human beings who show compassion and character.
What exactly did the Sting coach say that was so inappropriate? Did she take issue with the coach who clearly broke the rules? Did she take issue with inept administration? I stand by my statement, I would support any coach that had passion for the game and their players than I would the greatest coach who willingly broke rules.
No one is perfect here. Don't know you, you don't me, and its cool if we keep it that way. Don't know the Sting, she could be a great human being buts its unfortunate that we (the people who don't know her) walked away with a bad impression of her. Its not fair to her. But that is reality. The fact that she had an 05 team in the finals of an 04 tournament also speaks volumes of her. If you were there, you heard what she said.
It also speaks volumes about the '04 coach that felt he had to cheat to try to beat an '05 team. Pathetic!!!
Nocrying ... you just agreed that your coach had to cheat to beat an O5 team. You agreed! Why defend your cheating coach? You are ok with your daughter's coach cheating to win.

Blank77 wrote:OK, I have been reading this and one things stand out to me? In academy how is using players cheating? It is in the NTSSA rules that any player of the correct age can be on your roster, no matter who the played with the day before or the day after. A player that had never practiced for a team, can jump on the roster for a tournament and it be 100% legit. My DD would frequently play for different teams in tournaments all the time, it was not cheating but academy. Where the girls too old, if that is the case, it is cheating - but using 04 girls in an 04 tournament is not cheating in my opinion.

this is obtuse. You don't roster kids and then "magically" they show up at games/finals. then claim oh its a "clerical" error. This is willful and cheating not an error....

And I would have told my DD that you guys were caught cheating. It's not your fault but the coach used players he shouldn't have.

you do understand that an academy roster is 1) limited to a certain number of players and 2) cannot be added to once submitted at tournament check-in
So although you simplistic view of academy soccer is partially correct, there are strict tournament rules that all academy teams must abide....and there are reasons for these rules....
Having players participate Sunday....that were not on the roster submitted Thursday is wrong and can open up the door for all kinds other misconduct including player age issues.

Picking up some age pure guests for an academy tournament vs using kids too old are not even in the same ballpark. I will agree that there manger/coach should have gotten the roster issue straight - but if all the kids were 04s, they all could have been rostered and played. It is wrong that they were so lazy, I mean they didn't even get unique numbers, obviously they cared a whole lot less about an academy tournament than the Sting team.
That being said, Sting agreed to finish the game at half time after discovering the clerical errors. They did not protest until after they lost. If they agreed to finish the game, they should stick with the outcome. You can't play advantage and then whine about your foul when you miss your shot.

Just to Clarify, This coach used the exact same ineligible Players to Beat the FCD 05 girls. Crazy thing is they had to cheat to beat 2- 05 teams. Then bragging about it? That should say a lot about these parents. I would have been absolutely furious with our coach and manager had this happened to our team. This coach should get suspended and made an example of. These are the kind of tactics that NTSSA is trying to prevent.whatwasithinking wrote:Blank77 wrote:There should be a rule about playing up. You need to sign a no whine waiver. But when you have mystery players on the field....who knows if they're age appropriate?
Simply put, the Texans could have loaded up the official roster with 16 academy players that were potentially going to play that weekend, used some for some games, others for other games, saved the 4 in question for the championship, whatever.
but for whatever reason, they chose to omit those 4 from the roster and only a few people know why that is.

Actually, FC Dallas parents should be furious with themselves because they didn't catch it!!! Cant blame their coach because he did not even bother to show up for the semis. NTSSA prevents nothing. Just pay your child's registration and they get out the way.

This is the kinda of "gotcha" techincal error that doesn't mean squat. And playing with older players is not even close to the same as forgetting to fill out a piece of paper.
I wonder if the Sting team was given the first place medal what would the Sting parents say to their kid that said, " but wait, we lost that game to DT, how are we the champions."
Answer " Well, see they forgot to put four girls names on the roster, so we complained and got them to give you the trophy instead."
When I was a kid I never kept any trophy I got be default and my kids don't either.

Actually, aside from your snark, you are pretty much right. You will never see a post from this poster complaining about "guess" players at the Academy age. If you want the RASE girls to play everyweekend, bring them to as many teams as will have them. Same goes for any other little superstars that want to "guess" play. Who cares? Shouldn't this be about development and not who wins? Isn't that what everyone is always saying? Look at how they play, not the score? The kids across from the ball should not matter one bit as long as they are the same age you expet to be playing. This American attitude towards trying so hard to win that we will take a win by default is a little silly.
So if you are happy with your kid winning every meaninless tournament and game in the metroplex and making sure the record books mark down your glorious wins, more power to ya. I will just watch the kids play and see how they are coming along.
