They defeated Fever 03 and SRSA 03 teams in their last win so I think y'all might not know them well enough.
With the risk of sounding like a sore loser, I wasn't that impressed. Nice players, but we'll be more prepared next time.
RASE or Honey Badgers?
I'm going to assume RASE cause the words "sore loser" were used in that statement and RASE never lost a match so likely they meant they weren't that impressed with RASE.
Well you were impressed enough to proclaim one of them the best player in the 04 age group in a previous quote! Would be interested to know which team you are associated with cos I heard they killed everyone.
What???? I was agreeing with your statement - read what I wrote again and then get back to me... I was putting his statement into perspective as you were asking which team he was talking about - based on his use of words I was assuming it was RASE and he was associated with one of the Odyssey teams.

That was aimed at Soccapeeps who is obviously a Galaxy or Honey Badgers parent.

I did hear TX Spirit gave them an early run but ran out of gas the second half and the goals just started building after that. Seemed like (some) teams would keep up in the first half but were unable to hit the back of the net and would just plain run out of gas. We never even watched the Neon Tigers play them - thought it was a bit redundant at that point.

The most glaring difference I saw between RASE and other teams, RASE never missed shot opportunities - they were very accurate with their shots and were pretty crisp with their passing. A couple teams seemed to be able to keep up physically but just couldn't seem to find the net to put numbers up and that wasn't due to a prolific defense or anything, just inaccurate shots, cause teams had opportunities to score, just couldn't find the net.
What? I saw RASE miss a ton of shots with some of them being wide open shots. And they outshot the teams I saw by alot. Didn't see all of the games but the Dalglish was the most competative I saw and they seemed to have faster overall team speed but RASE had faster ball movement and by the second half they faded. So in noway were any of their games a result of not capitalizing on opportunites. They outplayed every team I saw. But you will not win games with the "let me hurry up and shoot this before the defender closes me down shot" If you are missing a ton of shots then you accuracy isn't the problem your shot selection is. Let me suggest that teams look into a technique called passing. It often leads to better shot selection and an increase in accuracy. I guess you can polish the boot, but it's still an a$%kicking

Teams that pass tend to do that too you. You can only chase the ball for so long in 100 degree heat

That's exactly what we saw - the passing, decisions making and execution was much more refined that the teams they played. The other teams were visibly exhausted by the second half of each match... Heat was definitely a factor but certainly not an excuse - they were definitely on a different level then everyone else playing out there and it certainly showed. Never actually seen them play 3v3 before so this was my first experience watching them play in this forum.

Hmm... not sure what you're contesting here... you saying they weren't as good as what we were seeing or they WERE as good as what we were seeing? Just said the other teams ALSO had scoring opportunities that they squandered and you can't do that to a team as good as RASE, ever or you lose and you lose big time.

Honey badgers never played RASE Saturday. So I don't think they would be "sore" losers. Probably the Galaxy coach. If so, he should probably worry about being "prepared" for other teams first. Like any other one they played this weekend.

Go99 were they missing any players? Not that it would matter as they can put any RASE player into that 3v3 team and they'd be fine.

I would like to add another thing - this is why you folks from RASE / Dalglish get beat up out here by everyone else - some misinterpretation of what's being written. I was actually applauding the team you all call RASE for their impressive play and ability to wear down the other team as well as making note of a few opportunities that other teams had that were squandered. You have to applaud teams that get ANY opportunity to challenge these girls on RASE even if it doesn't end up that way. Every team had positives but against RASE, they take advantage of mistakes and wear you down creating bigger mistakes and in the end the score reveals the difference in mentality and playing ability and is usually terribly lopsided in this age group.

Will go out on limb and say go99 was going with pro-Rase version of any interpretation. I will say that the "you did not sufficiently praise our top team, so let me point out how my 9 year old really kicked your 9 years olds ass" posts are not restricted to this age/team/gender. But still seems better to just nod wisely with a little inner smirk and be silently content.

I wouldn't say holding the ball in the corner is defeating a team. The team (was/were) just stalling to ensure a win.

Oh and I was saying this was not the best I have seen them play and they missed shots too. They did have one player out injured from wrestling bears in Colorado and another a little under the weather.

My DD wasn't on any of the losing teams that played RASE - our girls were in the Silver division so they didn't get the opportunity to get their arses kicked by RASE, instead, our girls got the next best thing, getting beat by Galacticos in the finals - who were apparently in Silver to dodge playing RASE. We were watching the big names like RASE, Neon Tigers and Cobra Kai playing to see what our girls need to live up to so they can compete in the Gold division at some point. So the above "we only lost...." doesn't apply to us - we were merely spectators.

Actually son was playing is the reason we were out there. And I think my position on 3v3 and you guys insanity is clear. But just incase it's not I will give it again. If her friends need a player she will help otherwise I choose not to participate in the insanity. 3v3 is worse than league play. She doesn't not need more chances to compete at soccer she needs more chances to "play". It's taken way to serious and is more harmful to development than it is helpful. I watch my son get together with friends and they laugh and play, do tricks and have fun. I watch the 04's run hard, work, and try to win. Parents are closer, pressure is higher, no creativity, no beautiful play. 3v3 went from being a fun distraction to serious big money ultra competative business. Hell you can even go on to be 3v3 champ at disney for what thats worth(nothing). So a few month ago when someone (not me) did a top 04 players list. DD was on that list so I think she will be okay. And the other player "wants" to play so there is no reason they should deny her just so my DD can play. But I did find out she has way more fun at 3v3 when she isn't actually playing in it. She was able to cheer on her friends and hang out during the game and run hard and play between the games (no need to rest)
But hey if it doesn't work out at rase she can always come take your DD's spot on her team:shock:

Master Bates wrote:I'd say its all Soccapeeps fault! "I wasn't that impressed" nobody comes on here praising RASE for winning the tournament, even when they beat top 03 teams so it shouldn't be a surprise that parents or supporters stick up for them. They should be congratulated for playing some great soccer but the top team always gets people trying to shoot them down. My DD told me a while back that the RASE girls are some of the nicest girls she's played against and with at camp. I've also never heard of RASE parents get into it with other parents in the field so I just don't get it.
I want to formally apologize to all of you for having a differing opinion. After an hour of soul searching, I came to the conclusion that Raise is better than most teams and I was impressed a little bit.
So why were they holding the ball in the corner? If my recollection is correct, they did that to us too!

Yes, however this was our first 3v3 together. Our girls did very well against a team that plays 3v3's regularly. Wasn't that impressed with them that's all. Shielding is one thing, what they were doing was not shielding. Just like taking your time to go get the ball. Hope that's not a skill now.
