LFS was my biggest dissapointment from the weekend. I really thought they would seperate themselves and run away with it.

Scott came out strong and gave hope but they couldn't overcome the babysitter coach

Cleaned house meaning 0 in the L column...I think they give up a lot of goals personally but...given the right backline I think they could make that #1 spot valid...

well they can't get the right backline they are stuck with what they have

He was pretty little himself and it took a lot of restraint not to go tell him who really was a "stupid little idiot"!

Interesting. Rumor is quickly spreading that he might not be the only coach calling a ten year old names today. I have no direct knowledge of the incident so will not add to the fire if it indeed just rumor.

Yes slrsoccer, I heard of another incident today as well. The behavior is not coaching, but a lack of coaching ability. We are still talking about 10 year old soccer.

FC Dallas Central White. Perhaps the coach JT aka TT, was talking to his own DD on the team. I hear that is commonplace. Totally unacceptable in any circumstance. TUIAC

Any coach that would do this should NOT be allowed to coach little kids period.

I mean if he can't control himself within reasonable standards, I wouldn't trust him.

Honestly, I more often than not often see coaches who have no IDEA that 10 year old brains are much less developed than adults. That's like a surprise to them.

I don't know about that. I've seen some coaches whose brains were definitely not as developed as a ten year old's.

Chacon is a good, solid team. It was a close game, Chacon scoring in the 1st play of the game deflated Odyssey. It's was a little revenge for Chacon losing in PKs a few week ago. Odyssey defense is strong and as a team they did not have a good game.
On another note, I think Sting teams were the only club sporting their new Select uniforms already. Most others still have academy old uniforms. They looked good.

Way off original topic...but why do parents continue to pay coaches that verbally abuse their kid? I understand sports and passion(yelling, though really not needed), but name calling a 10 year old girl? I have witnessed a 7 year old girl, 1st grader, being yelled at and called stupid too.

Coach should be real proud.

I call it delusion. Some people think that since it's sports it's somehow ok. Can you imagine a teacher calling your 10 year old a special little idiot, or a person at a store, a neighbor or some other random person?  But we PAY someone and allow them to do that because it's sports ? It is crazy. I believe that you abdicate your parental responsibility allowing this, condoning it or looking the other way. It's kids soccer for crying out loud, not the pros !

I am sure our little sideline reporter (soccerrocks) was sitting in the huddle transcribing too...context and accuracy is king, my friend. My dd doesn't play on that team, but I know some people...I asked around about the sideline speech from this coach on that particular day because I had trouble believing what I was hearing on the board here, and found out that the speech was about how they were not keeping formation as they were taught incessantly in practice, and if they didn't start focusing on formation they would look like a bunch of stupid little chickens with their heads cut off chasing every ball...and needlessly tiring themselves out by running around with no purpose.

I told a referee assignor one time that he was full of sh** when people were walking by us at the field one time...I am sure that probably stuck in their heads after getting out of earshot and hearing only that bit...trouble is, he was a personal friend of mine and we were talking about something totally unrelated to soccer...and he was indeed full of it in that instance.
