QT - Round 2

If you think all the d1 teams are out in front of the rest, you've lost your mind. The top 3 d1 teams where ahead of the rest, but now it's more like the top 1 and that's coming from being there. No the majority of the teams don't play possession soccer, that's my point, but they usually beat the ones that play long ball. It's 12 & 13 yr old girls, the most important thing is coaching. You think because your kid is in d1 that's she's in a league of her own, she's not! I've seen girls from d1 to plano that can play! Athletes always come to the top. Do you think that all the top teams that lost players this year found other d1 players to replace them with, no way. I'd like to see the bottom half of the teams in d1 play some of the teams in d2 and d3, I'd bet they would be surprised. When they lost the d1 teams would cry about the bracket they where in.

The most important things are the girls having fun. This isn't a career for these girls it's a sport. When your talking about possession it is beautiful to watch, but it's what's you do with possession when you have the ball.

Chill bro, as usual you're missing the entire point, just trying to say speed of play is the difference at the different levels. If you think any other D1 team can touch SRSA/Higgy/Grubb the you're high! 4-9 in D1 would be lucky to beat 10-16 in D2 on any given day. I agree with you, possession will win the vast majority of the time.

I believe I said the top teams are a different ball game. And the point of playing a game is having fun, making life long friends and learning!!!!. If you think it's all just fun why pay $$$$$$ go join rec. what do the top teams have in common great coaching, my dd she works hard and has fun because her coach expects them to work and be a team. It's a shame when teams like dts fall apart because that's an example of a great coach, but it opens up a new category. In a few more years probably 60%+ will be doing different things and on different teams. But I don't want any of y'all to go looking at a d3 team for replacements.

Nice try but no cigar. Although since I didn't recognize half of that team since last playing them in April, that is a pretty safe guess. I am guessing there are a lot of former players.

If you look at D1 and D2 last year I don't see how that holds water. Fever fell out of D1 and played a season of D2. They went undefeated in 18 games vs D2 teams (some ties). They will obviously fall in the 4-9 D1 category this year. That seems to show that there is separation between the D1 and D2 levels. They weren't lucky to beat the D2 teams as you state, they beat them regularly.

That makes us with teams in D1 this past year believe there is a gap between 4-9 and then 10-19 as shown by their success this past year in D2. That is just what it looks like when a team goes undefeated in D2 after not being able to stay in the 4-10 spot the year before.

People! I'm not angry, I'm tired of listening to parents get on this forum and predict who is going to make it and who isn't, because of the color of the jersey they wear. Each year y'all make stupid predictions which are never right. Y'all think because your daughter is on team x that they will always dominate team y. I hear how team a,b,c are the best teams and they are definitely in and it's never correct, team a and b didn't make it. Like I've said they are 12 & 13 it's about what they learn in the next 4-5yrs with a good coach, if they wish to play that long. You can train an athlete but you can't make an athlete. I see players move from one team to the next and wish all of them luck. My daughter has friends on several teams including the one's mentioned, that's why I'm sick of parents saying it's the bracket that got them in, if you didn't make it, suck it up and play harder. Good luck to all the teams that made it and good luck next year to the ones that didn't. But parents get off your pedestal because you might find your dd isn't as far ahead in 2yrs as she is today.

Hey soccerman 123 if there is such a difference, then how is your new goalie from d3 ever going to keep up. Before people go crazy that's not a shot at the keeper that's called sarcasm, I think she will do great.

Soccerman123, maybe my wording didn't quite convey the message I was intending. Simply put, there is not that much gap between lower D1 and upper D2, same goes for lower D2 and upper D3, and so on. That gap continues to shrink over the next couple of years as well.

You are something else.. lol If your tired of reading peoples opinion on who will win get off the forum! Simple as that.. To be honest in my opinion Feet wasn't much better then Keegan score was 1-0, only because of a bad call and free kick. Period! Keegan won every game in bracket A and B with the exception of Feet with only 1 goal against them the entire tournament. The girls worked hard and Its definitely heartbreaking for them. No need for you to try and bash the team!

I bashed the people who every year make predictions, saying a team doesn't have a chance to make it, and are never right. Do I like your teams style of soccer, no! I said your team was a good team in a previous post, but how many years has Keegan tried to get in. Like a previous parent said, you have to play the style of soccer your players allow. Curious to get opinion of WTX Holder regarding style of play. Their style must be better than Feet?

Holder is a really good team, fast and strong.

Question! If you have 16pts and all you need is a tie to when your bracket, what do you do? Clue, feet did it after they got up 1-0.

You did say Keegan was a good team followed by "Im glad they didnt win by a long ball!"  

Keegan is a good team but didn't play anyone in round 1??? Sounds to me like you've been throwing shade their way since the start of qt. Rather than congratulate girls who work their butts off you say "I'm glad they didn't win"??? Hmmm Just come out n tell us how you really feel about this team??? I was at the game and Feet just seemed to want it more congratulations to that coach and team but for you to sit there and say that you're "glad" that a group of 12 year old girls didn't achieve something that they worked so hard for is not good. You stay classy wired.

You want me to stay classy! Y'all have been on this forum saying how fcd black and fcd white should be grateful they got back into week 2. I have stood up for the teams who made it, while all you Liverpool parents bashed them saying it was the bracket that got them in. I criticized the style of play not the girls. Year after year if you don't make it stop blaming brackets and start looking at why. It's not pure luck. I thought Keegan was going to be hard to knock out, but 2 yrs in a row. All y'all had to do was congratulate the teams that made it, but y'all wanted to say it was there bracket not play and you think that's ok. Maybe next year you will get in a good bracket.

I never even commented on FCD or any other team in qt period. Show me where I commented on FCD or any other team with regard to qt. Truth hurts huh? You've obviously had this axe to grind for two years running now. People didn't pick your team to get in. What fault is it of LP Keegan? You proved em wrong n got in that's what counts. You must be talking to other posters because what you're saying doesn't apply to me I know what I post and rarely do I get into anything negative on this forum. You however have thrown shade at this team since you got on here go back and check for yourself buddy. Good luck to you and your dd. I'm sure you guys will do well this year and beyond. Just choose your words a bit wiser so you don't look so bitter.

Good luck to all the teams that did and didn't make LH.  As someone said earlier, the reality is that there is very little difference between many of these teams.  If we replayed these games 10 times, my prediction is over half would be ties and rest would be 1-0 games going one way or the other.  Let's not waste time quibbling over which team is better then the other.  Let's congratulate each other for Games well played and move on to the season.  If we as patents, can't move on, how is that setting a good example for our girls.
