Plano Labor Day 06G Accepted List

Seeding is done, just not posted. 12 team Gold Division. See yall in plano...

I'd have to guess that skeets hit it pretty close on the teams if that is the case.

Also, last year the seedlings were posted 4 days after the teams applied list was emailed out to coaches/managers. Seems we ought to see it late this week is my thought.

Awfully quiet in the 06 world...anyone want to share their predictions for the tournament?

Bo, pretty safe bet for you: 27 N. Texas teams versus two Oklahoma teams and one Arkansas team. And I'm only pegging one Oklahoma team to play in gold. The Arkansas team I'm unsure of where they will play.

Anybody know the # of accepted teams this year? Is it that much bigger than last year?

Is there a bigger tournament #wise in region 3? I'm guessing 833 teams this year. Last year was about 750.

I didn't see one, but maybe some more experienced posters know.

I believe there is one down in Houston that a good number of NTX teams travel to, but for the select ages. Plano Labor Day is up there though.

Sting Black will finish top 4, there are 2 on that list Cobra that several teams will give a run for their money.

From Plano just now. Schedules will be out no latwr than Tuesday.

Stop hounding them so they can get it done. Haha

Lot's of variables go into winning a tournament of this size. Especially around a holiday. Especially for 9 yr. old's.
1. 6 games for the teams that make it to finals over the weekend in the blistering Texas sun. Depth and conditioning certainly will come into play.
2. This is the 1st tourney of the new season, many kids have not played in quite some time. How long will it take for teams to get back into "form".
3.Complete rosters? Players out-of-town? "Guess players"? How familiar are girls with the players on the field with them?
4. Matchups - Depending on the bracket, some teams may find an easy road to the semi's at least.
Just to name a few.
I'll wait until Thursday or Friday (whichever day TD finally gets the schedule out) to make predictions.

With so many top teams in this tourney, I don't expect guess players to be much of a factor.

I checked out the schedule for U9 last year and the games were spread very far apart, link below

Some teams may have an easy path to the quarter finals, but making it to the semis will be tough.

Agree, guess players probably won't be that big of a factor, but they will be present.
Even with games spread out, 6 games in 3 days in 100 degree weather will still be a challenge. And a bracket winner potentially getting a wild card in the quarters that's only won 1 game(2 teams from last year did it), makes the road to the semi's easier.

I'm just glad to see a good turnout... not something we've seen in quite a while.
