Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3 Empty Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3

Post by Shelby427 28/09/11, 03:21 pm

1. LP Dalglish
2. DTN Rosales
3. DT Rowdies
4. Solar Kennington
5. Fever Red
6. DT South
7. TX spirit
8. LP Beardsley
9. Lady Aztecs
10. TBG or Odyssey

Basically switched Rowdies with Kennington based on the outcome of this past weekend game. It's not definitive of course but Power Rankings rarely are...

So in the age group we have no Sting, FC Dallas or Feet. So at what point will that change?

There is no D'Feeters team in the top ten in select for 99, 00 and 01. They have a good little 02 team but no top 10 03 or 04 teams (and that's just an observational fact, not a criticism). So I'd say they aren't the real mystery at the moment. FC Dallas I'm sure will have a couple of top ten teams within 12-18 months in the age group.

Talk about ill-informed comments... You are correct on the 99's and 00's but the 01's are just fine and will be D1 next year again, the 02's are good and getting much better and the 03's have been considered Top 5 for some time now. scratch scratch

And speaking of ill-informed:

Girls U11 Division I

1: DALLAS TEXANS 01 GIRLS DALLAS
2: FC DALLAS 01G PREMIER
3: DALLAS TEXANS 01G RED NORTH
4: SOLAR CHELSEA 01 GIRLS RED
5: DALLAS KICKS SC 01
6: DALLAS TEXANS 01G FTW
7: DALLAS SOLAR SOLAR-CHELSEA 01G
8: STING 01G (FLANAGAN)
9: ANDROMEDA FC 01G
10: SOLAR CHELSEA 01 GIRLS WHITE
11: D'FEETERS 01

So yes, currently there is no Feet team in the top 10. But you are right about the 03's as the parent rankings have them top 5 or so but at that age they are still called Samba so maybe an oversight on the part of Wolf. Bad Wolf.

I believe the 01s are in 11th place in the league. Technically does that make them in the top ten or not? Given how tight the division is, they could be 3rd in a couple of weeks or close to the bottom but would you like me to say they're #5 so I'm apparently not ill-informed by the actual Lake Highlands official league standings Rolling Eyes

I already gave props to the 02s so no disagreement there.

With the 03's, I missed seeing Samba in there so my apologies.

I'm sorry, three weeks in to unbalanced schedule, the 01's are not technically a "top 10" but that did not appear to be the intent of the comment. Just pointing out if you want to put yourself out there as knowing, you might want to have your facts straight. Sorry for calling out the always unbiased and lovable wolf.

The not-so-recent trend at Feet is undeniable, and it's hardly confined to the younger age groups.

You've been doing that at every opportunity for 3 years like some kind of troll both on here and in the soccer community to anybody who will isten to you. Don't change just because I suggested your club isn't necessarily as powerful in the age groups as they used to be.

Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3 Empty Re: Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3

Post by Shelby427 28/09/11, 04:52 pm

Clearly it is the Texans who dominate the 04s at the moment with 3 top ten and some could argue 3 top 5 teams. Next in line is surprise surprise Liverpool. If Barnes keeps playing well liverpool could break another team into the top 10. I have seen a Sting 04 and a couple of FC Dallas 04 teams playing in EAL or DIAL but I have no idea how good they are. I have not seen a single Samba D'Feeters in 04.

I suspect we might see these clubs in the Thanksgiving Shootout this year.

DT has always put out strong team in most age brackets. I am just going to go off academy age & not select because I am lazy right now and don't want to look it up. If you look at the '02 age group DT has 4 top 10 teams (DT-Higg (old Rowdies, DT- Bennet (used to be Glotz), DTN & DTS. So in all accounts they are covering all the Dallas area (Central- which is listed as just DT, North, South & the elite team).

You will see this in most age brackets as DT wants to be the big dog at the show in all age brackets.

Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3 Empty Re: Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3

Post by 2good4u 28/09/11, 09:32 pm

Sting, Samba, and FC Dallas all have 04 teams. However, they are not top teams. It will be difficult for them to build top teams on their own. More likely that they will need to acquire a strong team from another club or maybe an independent. The implosion of a team is also a good opportunity to pick up strong players. I anticipate these things could happen over the next year or two, as history does repeat itself.

Do the rankings include all the new leagues? DIAL, EAL, UAL? Or is it just the SDL teams?

It includes all known teams that fit the bill regardless of leagues. Currently the top 10 are represented by DIAL, SDL, and Primetime teams.

It is possible there could be a team or two that might belong in the top 10 that we don't know about since they have not played against other known top teams in tournament or league play.

Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3 Empty Re: Fall 04 Rankings - Week 3

Post by SoccerDad4 29/09/11, 09:18 am

As stated above, it's highly likely that Sting, FCD and Feet will all have strong 04 teams at some point. They will get there either through development, recruiting, or an entire group joining them.

I do not have as much information on the current standing of Feet, as a club, as others do. However, their 01 team has long been considered a #7-#10 team, and I think once the entire 01 LGHCL schedule plays out, their 01's will be a lower D1 team.

To me, Liverpool is the big surprise in these younger age groups, like the 04's. Very strong teams.

Didn't DT Bennett, or as you have them, DT Rowdies, beat Kennington last week?

Yeah ~ this makes me laugh. Kennington has lost to Dalglish consistently and Rowdies this past weekend. I think the original ranking was right. Solar Kennington is more like 4th. Dalglish is probably rightfully 1st until they lose to somebody in the 04 group. Dalglish and Kennington play in SDL next week. Should be a good game. Kennington will probably bring 03s like he did in the tournament which will prompt a debate about who is a better team ... unless Dalglish brings 03s to the pitch as well.

NO offense but this is not even remotely accurate. Most of the heavy waiting is done via tournament play over the year and minor adjustments are only made during the season for teams playing each other and winning/losing. Clearly you are not taking into account the tournament games which really give us the best idea for teams that don't play each other in the same leagues.

Granted Dalglish has not played a true 04 vs 04 game against top 04 teams since last year, most people agree their play against top 03 teams is good enough to put them at the top of 04s. Now I still think any of the top 4-5 04 teams have a shot at beating them... but for now most agree they sit number 1.

Rowdies over Kennington due to recent win over them and Fever United and DT South have both beaten Aztecs (Dt South's only loss to them came in PKs when the team did not have a full and healthy roster).

That’s just a FEW of the issues I have with your list but there are more.

10. Mutiny FC Shepard

Based on the games that I've seen at Primetime, SDL, DIAL's, PSA and PYL.

If this is based on games you have seen, then you must not watch very many games.

I just wanted to get people talking however I do think Kennington team is number 1.

Kennington is a great team, no doubt. But they recently lost to both Dalglish and Rowdies so not sure it's fair to say they are better than these two.

Also, a few teams on this list (two to be exact) haven't played in any of the top recent outdoor tournaments (i.e. PT Fall Classic, Guts & Glory, etc) so it's hard to rank them with these top 10 teams until they do. They very well may be great 04 teams... but the only way to know is to play the games on the pitch against one another. If these two teams (Mutiny and Sting) have played against any of these top 10 teams I stand corrected in advance! Smile

I used those teams simply because they compete in DIAL. Both are very strong teams. Sting Goodman has picked up many new players.
The Aztecs play in that league as well. Also UIL doesn't have teams represented. However I now know that tournaments carry more weight in the poll.
