BTW, the Kick North v Sting Fuego was one the best 06 soccer games I have seen played in terms of two teams trying play soccer.  The passing, defending, and technical skill was really good.

cheers

It sounds like a good plan, it reminds me of another great program and coach. Laughing

The big challenge is getting parents that will not be hung up on 'B team' status. Good coaching and practicing against/ with top players should be enough of a draw, but parents are dumb.

Good luck to eveybody playing this weekend.

Usual smattering of Kicks-hate I see. For a relatively small club, they put together quality teams in every age group and do what they feel is best for the kids, not what the forums want and get consistently bashed for it.

I agree with you. They have quality teams in 02s, 03s, 04s, 05s.

02's? 03's? Not in LHGCL. 01's? Great beyond question.

Yes the 01's and 00's are very good.
I pulled up their website, there are no 02 or 03 teams for the Kicks.

Rolling Eyes

Shout out to DTS for a good showing. I haven't seen you guys play recently, but you seem to be scoring 4 goals a game regularly.

Good luck to the remaining teams in the final.

Great weekend. I had a great time and thanks again for the coffee from the Dallas Texans South parent. Awesome Dad!

Enjoyed the conversation and unfortunately NTX is losing a good parent and player to California.

I guess work sometimes gets in the way of staying in NTX.

Congratulations Sting Black. Nice win!.

So since Sting B. was already invited to SuperCopa, does that mean Shepard gets the invite from this tourney for being runner-up?

Sting fuego gets it though and sting black has the "special" invitation as per Skeets. I'm still scratching my head and what exactly they were finalists of that got it for them as he said.

Remember, Sting Fuego won the qualifier.

I'm just guessing....but I think he's mixing up the being qualified for the ESPN Copa and the Premier Super Copa. Weren't they in the finals with TSC for the ESPN qualifier?

Good tourney this weekend and job well done to all the teams in the Copa QT this weekend!

Special shout out to the final four today:
1) FCD Shephard - Awesome job all weekend and for making the finals!! This team is on the radar now!!!
2) DTS - Great job making semis and beating several really good teams along the way!
3) SRSA - lived up to the pre-tourney predictions, made the semis, and went down with valiant effort!
4) Hat's off to Coach Audrey and her team for winning the tourney after once again playing in the toughest bracket!

Last, I mis-spoke as Sting Black qualified only for ESPN Copa. If Sting Black does no get an invite into Super Copa, which I think they have a strong case, then I am sure Coach A will play under Fuego.

I may be wrong but I think you will have at least 6 local teams in Super Copa.  I just think at this young age, you won't get more than 10 out of town teams.  Some who committed may drop when it's time to register.  Select age teams is a different story.  As far as rosters,  it's academy.  We don't even have locked rosters here.  Girls and teams might be at different clubs by June.  It's hard to make a pre-select roster locked when no kids have contracts.  It's good forum discussion though...lol.   Welcome to Dallas, it's 104 degrees today.  We hope your back next year.

That's right. You got the bad A#& Chin hair! Your DD is fast and talented. Great conversation with you on the midfield. Your team was impressive and I can see why you won gold at the Plano Labor day Tournament. Your team will be a tough one that I will have to watch for sure!

So does anyone know who will be in the June SuperCopa tourney? Some teams are already invited and some will be invited after this weekend. Other than the teams that won their division what decides what teams get an invite?

Total crap shoot on who or why... Last I had heard this week they were not going to extend any auto invites after all.

If true then this June tourney is dead before it even begins.  Socal nor most others will drive to NTX to play each other and a few others from areas they would most likely dominate.

Well that is not cool. Who is already "invited"? It reminds me of the movie RAD. (If anyone remembers that 80's send me an angel scene in the high school gym).
