Re: U90C Spring Kickoff tournament assessment
This is my first time experiencing U90C. When my 00 was in academy she never player in a U90C. I am not sure it was around.
Positives:
•The games were on time
•Officiating was better than normal, which says a lot coming from me. :-)
•Competition was excellent
Opportunities:
•Get the schedule out a week in advance.
•Clearly define the qualifying process for Super Copa
•if possible assign age brackets to one field, reduce driving all over DFW in between games.
Overall, I would say good experience and would participate again.

Thanks Wolf.

Special shout out to the final four today:
1) FCD Shephard - Awesome job all weekend and for making the finals!! This team is on the radar now!!!
2) DTS - Great job making semis and beating several really good teams along the way!
3) SRSA - lived up to the pre-tourney predictions, made the semis, and went down with valiant effort!
4) Hat's off to Coach Audrey and her team for winning the tourney after once again playing in the toughest bracket!
Last, I mis-spoke as Sting Black qualified only for ESPN Copa. If Sting Black does no get an invite into Super Copa, which I think they have a strong case, then I am sure Coach A will play under Fuego.
Congrats to Sting for winning the toughest bracket. We hope we are lucky enough to get an invite to Super copa so we can play what looks to be a tough tournament.

Also good luck at Futsal Nationals! Hopefully, Selecao & Sting Black can represent NTX 06 well playing up in 05. Regardless, should be a great experience.

Congrats to Sting Black for taking the Copa division in convincing fashion.
A good showing for Shepard in Hanlon clothing
Nice weekend from DTS.
What's up with Kicks North and Pulp? Just 1 win between the two.
Magenta scores not as big as predicted, although they took Gold as expected.
A rough weekend for the 07's. 1 win between the 2, scoring only 4 goals against the 06's.
Best of all, no reported injuries to DD's and no parental incidences on the sidelines or parking lots.
Maybe we will see invites go out soon as it appears there are plenty of slots still available for SuperCopa.
Congrats to all of the DD's that played this weekend. Looking forward to what looks like an exciting spring season.

I'll give you some of my DD's commentary. She said Sting moved some speed to the backline. I don't know if that's a 'Fuego' thing or a coaching adjustment. I've become a fan of defense, so I'll be watching out for that.

Fair enough. Although SR did double the win total of Kicks North and Pulp, not exactly their best work. Maybe missing coaches kid?

I agree with Skeets observations...especially regarding the quality of officiating and random locations for each match. The officiating was better than normal, although we kicked off two games with only 1 linesman. A couple of other takeaways from this weekend:
1) The gotsoccer mobile app never worked correctly - there was absolutely no roster verification process, anybody could have suited up. Refs didn't even check jersey numbers
2) Scores were updated quickly, albeit incorrectly at times
3) Sure there were strong winds, but DSP needs to do some field leveling – the ball would consistently roll downhill on set pieces
4) While the final version of the schedule was ridiculously late, our team’s conflicts were honored
Our team’s experience was a positive one, and we will certainly consider U90C for more tournaments in the future.

I did see one team that had two number 15s on the field. Who cares though? It's academy.

It was my understanding that DTS had 4 yellows (3 different yellows and a 2nd yellow for one kiddo that turned red) and a parent ejection that delayed the game while said parent decided not to leave. I'm sure their kid was so proud! So much for "no parental incidences on the sidelines or parking lots"!

I have appreciated all the positive remarks about the 06 group and the fact that the 06 parents have been supportive of other teams on here. If you would like to know the facts about the game please do ask and I will let you know.
